Meet Joyce Englund!
Originally from Chicago, Joyce is serving as an intern at IKC Church through the Evangelical Covenant Church and we’re so excited to welcome her to Kiel!

We asked Joyce a few questions so we can all get to know her a little better and give her a warm Kiel welcome 🇩🇪

Also, someone needs to teach her that “Moin” basically means everything here.
Hello, goodbye, good morning..

We are so grateful to have Joyce with us and for all the joy she brings wherever she goes!

We look forward to seeing you all today at 5pm for our Sunday service!

Yesterday’s ladies group gathering was such a beautiful reminder of God’s grace and light. 🎨

Through every brushstroke, laughter, and quiet moment of reflection, we experienced how creativity can become a form of worship, bringing ideas to life through Christ. Each painting carried its own story, yet together they reflected connection, joy, and His presence among us.

So grateful for every lady who joined us, it truly was a special time. If you missed it, don’t worry… keep an eye out for our next ladies session! We’d love to have you there.

What a great Sunday shared together!
Yesterday’s message shared by Pastor Rainer from Matthew 28:1–15 reminded us of God’s calling that each of us faces a choice to accept or reject His call. The same moment, yet different responses… a powerful invitation to reflect on our faith and how we respond daily.

We are grateful for this encouraging word and the opportunity to gather together in worship and fellowship.

We also celebrated Swantje’s birthday 🎉🥳

Special thanks to our church crew for bringing everything together, your dedication makes the service even more meaningful.

Please also keep an eye out for our fellowship events happening this week, And we look forward to seeing you again this Sunday for our next service!

Holy Week Reflections!

Our hearts are so full as we look back on our Maundy Thursday and Saturday gatherings. From the humble washing of hands and feet to the quiet beauty of the campfire vigil, each moment invited us to slow down, reflect, and draw closer together in faith and love.

There was something truly special in the atmosphere peaceful, reverent, and deeply moving. This weekend felt like a little slice of Heaven on Earth.

A huge thank you to everyone who made these moments possible those who planned, served, led, and supported behind the scenes and to each person who came and shared in these sacred times with us. We’re so grateful for this community.

If you missed it, don’t worry there’s more to come! Please look out for our future fellowship events. We would absolutely love for you to join us next time.

This Sunday, Pastor Rainer reminded us—it doesn’t have to be loud to matter.

The woman who anointed Jesus with perfume gave everything in a quiet act of love and worship. And Jesus said that wherever the gospel is preached, her story will be told.

And then there is Simon the Leper—the one who simply opened his home. No spotlight, no recognition—just space for something sacred to happen.

One poured out her offering.
One made room.

Both became part of a story that still speaks today.
✨ Faithfulness, even in silence, leaves an eternal impact.

Hebrew: שָׁלוֹם (Shalom)| Aramaic: שְׁלָמָא (Shlama)| Greek: εἰρήνη (Eirēnē)

Where do you find peace?
Come follow Jesus- the Prince of Peace…

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 4:7

Last Sunday, Pastor Rainer preached about where we go for comfort.

In moments when life feels difficult or uncertain—even in places where stability is often expected—we are reminded that our hope is found in Christ. ✝️
