Dear young men and parents, we are very sorry to share that we will not be able to hold our camps as planned this year. It truly breaks our hearts but understand that the primary concern going into this summer is to take care of each other, our families, and help reduce the effects and spread of COVID-19.

We are working on fun and socially-distant appropriate alternatives for each of our camps, so please check back in here. We'd also love to hear your ideas of things you think would be fun. Our Father and Sons camp is just around the corner (May 15) so more details will be coming soon!

We love you all and hope you are all are in good health and spirits at this time.

"As we seek to be desciples of Jesus Christ, our efforts to hear Him need to be ever more intentional. It takes conscious and consistency effort to fill our daily lives with His words, His teachings, His truths.

We simply cannot rely upon information we bump into on social media. With billions of words online and in a marketing-saturated world constantly infiltrated by noisy, nefarious efforts of the adversary, where can we go to hear Him?

We can go to the Scripture...

We can also hear Him in the temple. While worshiping in the temple is presently not possible, I invite you to increase your participation in family history research and indexing.

We also hear Him more clearly as we refine our ability to recognise the whisperings of the Holy Ghost. I renew my plea for you to do whatever it takes to increase your spiritual capacity to receive personal revelation.

Doing so will help you know how to move ahead with your life, what to do during times of crisis, and how to discern and avoid the temptations and the deceptions of the adversary."

Dear Young Men, leaders, and parents, sadly we must make plans to significantly adjust our upcoming Aaronic Priesthood Commemorative Campout (a.k.a Father and Son’s Campout) on May 15th. Some of the military stop movement orders have extended till the 25th of May which will not allow many (if not all) of is to gather and celebrate together.

However, this doesn’t mean we are cancelling it. May 15th is the 190 anniversary of the restoration of the Priesthood and we would still like to celebrate in a special, unified (but physically distant) way. More details to come through your Bishoprics and YM advisors, so stay tuned!

Dear Young Men and parents, with the recent changes across the church due to Coronavirus, the Stake Young Men Presidency is mindful of the need to reduce large gatherings and we are paying close attention to the announcements as they come. So far, our camps are still a ways out and no changes need to be made at this time to our summer schedule. Please stay tuned here for announcements on any changes that need to be made as changes in this region unfold.

Dear youth, parents, and adult youth leaders, we have a lot of fun things planned from the stake for our young men this year. More details will follow, but here is a quick preview so you can start planning ahead:

>> 15 May - Stake Father and Son's Campout. 190 years ago, the Priesthood was restored to the earth. We'll celebrate with a father and son overnight at the Baumholder campground.

>> 15-17 June - Camp Helaman. For all Priest-aged boys in the K-Town Stake, this camp will follow in the Camp Helaman tradition of nature, fun, spirituality, and preparing our great young men for their missions. Location: Jugenddorf Teufelsfels, Schneppenbach.

>> 3-8 Aug - Stake YM Camp. This will be our first year camping under the Church's new Youth Program, and we are excited for a great time. Location: Edelweiss Lodge and Resort, Garmisch.

>> 22-24 October - Stake Youth Conference. Our Stake Youth Committee is well underway in organizing this great event to finish out the year. Location: Eifelsteig-Jugendherberge, Gerolstein.

We'll need lots of volunteers to make these events great. If you are interested in being part of the fun, please contact Trek Potter ([email protected]).

Get ready! The Stake Youth Standards event is this Saturday.

WHEN? Saturday, January 25th, 3-10 p.m. Please be seated in the chapel no later than 2:45!

WHERE? Kaiserslautern Stake Center

WHO? Youth in the Kaiserslautern Stake (as well as youth leaders/advisors and chaperoning parents)

WHAT to WEAR? Sunday dress

WHAT to EXPECT? Workshops, Dinner, Dance (for youth turning 14 or older in 2020), Ice-Skating (for youth turning 12 or 13 in 2020)—bring a change of warm clothes for ice skating!

WHY? To introduce the Youth Theme for 2020

Looking forward to seeing all our youth there!

Happy New Year! We hope everyone had a merry Christmas and is excited for all the new changes in the Church’s Young Men’s Program.

Big news! As we move away from chartered Scout Camp, we are planning to run a Young Men’s camp in the summer following the new camp guidelines. More details to come, but we are currently planning for August around the time of the Stake Young Women’s Camp.
