She'eb (Tigre: ሽዕብ) is a town in the Northern Red Sea region of Eritrea. It lies on the fertile plain at the foot of the eastern escarpment of the Eritrean Highlands.
One eventful morning on Thursday May the 12th, 1988 the people of She’eb were made to suffer unbearable atrocities.
The story of She’eb is different in a sense that the people who were murdered there were not combatants but rather innocent and unaffiliated men, women and children. They were killed in a despicable manner. They were crushed alive with tanks – a display of the cruelty and unwarranted violence perpetuated by the Ethiopian regimes.
She’eb and its environs were ravaged by the Ethiopian colonial regime and had been reduced to a state of an almost wilderness. However, the days of colonial era have now become past history. She’eb sub-zone, once a forgotten area is now gaining the opportunity of having different service rendering institutions in varied sectors.
There wasn’t a school in She’eb sub-zone before independence. The only school that was available was one elementary school that used to give educational services up to second grade level in the 1960s, which was burned down by the Ethiopian colonial regime. The inhabitants of the sub-zone used to travel to Keren and Massawa in pursuit of education. At present, however, with the exception of two administrative areas, there are many educational institutions in the six administrative areas of the sub-zone that are giving educational services from elementary to secondary levels.
The transformation in the soft component of the society has brought an admirable accomplishment in all-round development of that respected area and especially in agriculture. There is a well-established agricultural infrastructure in She’eb sub-zone for the government has been dispensing huge resources in that sector 🇪🇷

Eritrea 🇪🇷 The Nation:

The Final Frontier Wasn’t the End—It Was the Crown

May 20–24, 1991, was not merely a conclusion. It was the perfect ex*****on of a war that had already been won—militarily, politically, and morally. Eritrea didn’t fight into Asmara. It walked in without firing a single bullet.

Why?

Because the final battle was fought before the city fell—in Afabet with Nadew Command, at Fenkil through the gates of Massawa, and across the hellish plains of Denkalia with Wefri Denkalia These were not just battles. They were surgical dismantlings of colonial and Derg infrastructure. Every move calculated. Every sacrifice counted.

By May 20, Asmara was not a fortress. It was a hollow shell waiting to be claimed.

The people didn’t resist. They welcomed the freedom fighters. The soldiers didn’t loot. They protected the citizens. The liberation movement didn’t divide—it was unified. This was not anarchy. It was a disciplined crescendo of a 30-year revolution.

The world watched in disbelief. No coup. No collapse. No chaos.

This was statecraft born from the trenches.

The so-called final frontier was actually the result of strategic genius, self-reliance, and unwavering unity. It was a reminder that true independence is not won at the gates—it’s won long before the gates ever open.

Eritrea 🇪🇷 The Nation:

Even 4 Kilo, like a broken clock, might stumble on the truth twice a day—but that doesn’t make it just, wise, or functional.

Some words sound right—but from the wrong mouth, they mean nothing.
Every day, 4 Kilo repeats a few “correct” words. Let’s list them:

1. “Peaceful” – The word rolls off their tongue while weapons move in the shadows. They say "peaceful," yet conflict follows them like a shadow.

2. “Brother” – They address others as "brother"—then betray, undermine, and manipulate. Brotherhood without respect is treachery in disguise.

3. “Neighbors” – They invoke “neighbors” as if geography justifies dominance. But a neighbor who invades is no better than a thief.

Words are cheap. Truth is proven by action.
You don’t fix a broken clock by painting over it—you rebuild it from the inside.
