Heute haben Vertreter unserer Gemeinde Adass Jisroel Berlin und der Jüdischen Gemeinde an der Gedenkveranstaltung am Mahnmal "Gleis 17" teilgenommen und die Opfer des Verbrechens der Shoa geehrt.
Am 18. Oktober 1941, vor 79 Jahren, verließ der erste Berliner »Osttransport« mit mehr als 1.000 jüdischen Kindern, Frauen und Männern den Bahnhof Grunewald in Richtung Litzmannstadt (Łódź). Ab 1942 fuhren Deportationszüge auch vom Anhalter Bahnhof und vom Güterbahnhof Moabit ab. Ziele der Transporte waren Ghettos, Konzentrations- und Vernichtungslager in Minsk, Kowno, Riga, Piaski, Warschau, Theresienstadt, Sobibor, Rasik und Auschwitz.

Today representatives of our congregation Adass Jisroel Berlin and of the Jewish Community took part in the commemoration service at the memorial "Gleis 17" and honoured the victims of the crimes of the Shoa.
On 18th October 1941, 79 years ago, the first Berlin "East-transport" left the Grunewald train station in the direction of Litzmannstadt (Łódź), with over 1,000 Jewish children, women and men. From 1942 deportation trains also departed from Anhalter Bahnhof and Güterbahnhof Moabit. The destinations of the transports were Ghettos, concentration and extermination camps in Minsk, Kowno, Riga, Piaski, Warsaw, Theresienstadt, Sobibor, Rasik und Auschwitz.
