RHAPSODY OF REALITIES SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 9TH

USING HIS NAME WITH AUTHORITY

And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it(John 14:13-14).

When you study the words of the Master in the scripture above, you'll realize that He was referring to using His Name with authority; doing great works in His Name. He was emphasizing the power and authority vested in His Name, making it clear to us that this authority is effective in bringing about any desiredresult. Hallelujah!

Let’s examine those words a bit more: first, He said, "If you shall ask anything in my name...." To ask here means to demand something. The Lord Jesus was referring to situations where you demand that something should happen in His Name. At such moments, He says, "I will cause it to happen." What an assurance! This is a demonstration of the authority we have in His Name.

An example of this can be found in Acts chapter 3, where Peter and John encountered a man who had been crippled from birth. Peter simply used the Name of Jesus with the understanding of the authority that it wields. He understood what Jesus meant when He said, “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do..” (John 14:13).

As a result, Peter demanded healing for the man who was crippled from birth. The Bible says, “And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God” (Acts 3:7-8). This is precisely what Jesus was talking about—using His Name with authority.

Recall what He said in John 10:25, "I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me." He commissioned us to do the same in His Name. We have the authority to speak to anything in His Name and have a miracle. You can speak to broken bones, blind eyes, and every challenging situation in His Name, and there’ll be a change. Glory to God!

When you speak in His Name, He’s present with divine power to ensure that your words come to pass. He guarantees the results. This is the authority we've been given; it’s power beyond this world; power to change circumstances in His Name. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for the authority in the Name of Jesus. As I speak and act in His Name, every situation aligns with your will. Sickness, disease, poverty and every contrary condition bow to the Name of Jesus. I walk in this authority, manifesting your power in every area of my life, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES FRIDAY 7TH FEBRUARY

GOD’S ONE AND ONLY

No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in thebosom of the Father, he hath declared him (John 1:18).

What we just read provides one of the most extraordinary expressions of the Son of God. It emphasizes that no one has seen God face to face, which is a significant point. Then it refers to Jesus as the “only begotten Son.” The Greek term used for begottenis “Monogene‌s,” which means the one and only or one of a kind, unique, with no other like Him. Jesus is described here as the only born Son of the Father.

But then we see something extraordinary about His mission, what He was born to do, in our theme verse: He came to make the Father known: “No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.” The word declared is from the Greek “exe‌geomai” which means that Jesus, God’s born-Son, came to rehearse God to men. He came to show us what God is like in human form. He came to declare and act out the nature of God.

Now, think about this: the life that He had is what He’s given you (1 John 5:11-12). And the Bible says as He is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17). So, today, He’s called the “...first begotten of the dead...” (Revelation 1:5). This is because He heads up a new species, a new class of “Monogene‌s”—people who have now been born of God as a result of the resurrection of Jesus Christ—by virtue of the New Birth (1 Peter 1:3).

Recall what the Bible says in 1 John 3:1, “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God….” We’re born-sons of God: “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God” (John 1:12-13). James 1:18 says, “Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.” We’re the first and the best; the one and only or one of a kind; unique. (Also read 1 Peter 2:9 AMPC). Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for the blessing of eternal life for everyone who hears and receives the message of the Gospel. Today, many will hear and understand the depth of your love and the invitation to be born again and receive the divine life as the Gospel is preached around the world, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

TOPIC ✨ STAY IN THE WORD ✨

Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth (Ephesians 6:1-3).

Someone asked the question: "How powerful are curses or blessings spoken by parents over their children?" Such curses or blessings, according to the Bible, have impactful implications; they could be quite powerful. When you study the Bible, you'd find blessings by parents and curses by parents and how they came to pass.

Being born again, it's important to understand that we're called into a life of blessings by God. We were called to inherit a blessing (1 Peter 3:9). If, however, you had a problem with your parents before you were born again and they pronounced a curse on you, now that you're born again, that curse will no longer have any effect. You should nevertheless go and reconcile with them. That's important. If reconciliation is impossible or difficult, consult your pastor. Your pastor can counsel you and guide you on what to do next.

If you were already born again and then your parent cursed you, generally, that curse will not work. However, if your actions were contrary to the Word of God, you could face real trouble. This is because being outside the Word of God places you in a vulnerable position where such a curse could have an effect on you. Remember the lsraelites in Egypt: when the death angel was to come into Egypt, God instructed them to mark their doorposts with blood. This marked them out from the Egyptians, protecting them from harm.

Similarly, staying within the Word of God and functioning according to God's principles keeps you protected. If you live outside the Word, you open yourself to potential danger; you break the hedge as it were. And the Bible says, ..whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him" (Ecclesiastes 10:8).

God wants us to live in peace, for He has called us to peace, especially with our parents. The Bible teaches us to honour our parents as stated in Ephesians 6:1-3, which is a quote from Exodus 20:12 and Deuteronomy 5:16. This commandment comes with a promise: that it may be well with you and that you may live long on the earth. Christian parents should also never curse their children but bless them.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I choose to live in the light of your Word, honouring my parents and those you've placed in my path as leaders and walking in peace and in the blessings that come from doing your Word, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

TOPIC: ✨ CUSTODIANS OF TRUTH ✨

Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in (Isaiah 26:2).

I’ll like you to observe two things that qualify a nation to come into the gates of God. The first is righteousness. The second is that the nation must have and walk in the truth. What nation is this custodian and observer of the truth?

God’s Word is Truth, and His truth was given to us in Christ Jesus. Thus, the Church of Christ is this nation that keeps the truth. Paul, writing to Timothy in 1 Timothy 3:15 called the house of God, which is the Church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. We belong in the Church which is the custodian of the truth. The Church is a righteous nation. We’re God-like in true righteousness and holiness (Ephesians 4:24).

The Bible says, “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” (2 Corinthians 5:21). Everyone who has accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour has been made righteous!

In Ephesians 4:24 (AMPC), Paul highlights that we were created in true righteousness and holiness: “And put on the new nature (the regenerate self) created in God’s image, [Godlike] in true righteousness and holiness.” If you walk with sin consciousness, you wouldn’t know that you’re righteous. But His gate is opened to the righteous ones—the Church! What a blessing!

Peter corroborates this in his first epistle when he called us a holy nation: “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9 AMPC).

We’re a peculiar nation, born in righteousness, producing fruits of righteousness, and proclaiming His truth in righteousness.

PRAYER

Righteous Father, your peace and prosperity reign in the nations of the world, as we, your Church, proclaim your truth and righteousness around the world. We overturn the structures, systems and schemes of satanic propagation of deception and fear across the nations, and we declare that your will be done in all the earth, as it is in heaven, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

TOPIC: YOUR SHIELD AGAINST THE ENEMY

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked (Ephesians 6:16).

In Christianity, faith is our lifestyle. When the Scripture tells us to take up the shield of faith against the enemy, it means our faith is a shield. With your faith, you’ll be able to neutralize or put out all the fiery darts of the wicked one.

There’re fiery missiles directed at you, and they’re coming from demoniacal forces. But with your faith, you can put them out. Discouragement and anger, for instance, are missiles of the enemy. Some people could be by themselves and suddenly have anger and discouragement assault their minds. Those are darts of the enemy.

Some suddenly feel something like a hard object hit them from the side, yet there was no physical object or person present; that’s a fiery dart of the enemy. For some others, it comes as a sudden sharp pain somewhere in the body. But thanks be unto God! These darts from the enemy can be neutralized with your shield of faith.

The Bible says, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4). 1 John 5:4 says, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” Your faith is what you need. This is what puts you over and above Satan and the circumstances of life.

Remember that you don’t have to look around for a shield called faith; faith is in your spirit as Paul succinctly puts it in Romans 12:3. Keep building your faith strong by learning and acting on the Word. Irrespective of what happens around you, refuse to fear; speak the Word in faith. That’s how to use your shield of faith to put out Satan’s wiles and stratagems. Stand on God’s Word, and your victory will be as sure as the Word is. Hallelujah!

PRAYER / CONFESSION
My faith is alive and prevails today, irrespective of the perils and tribulations in the world! I’m shielded and protected. I’m like a tree planted by the waters, that spreads out her roots by the river. I’m triumphant always in Christ Jesus! TOPIC: ✨ WE ALWAYS WIN ✨

Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place (2 Corinthians 2:14).

There’s a reason for the Church being the most persecuted of the demographics in the world: Satan is terrified of us; therefore, he’s making so mucheffort to cause fear in the hearts of many. But he’s a failure. The mighty things that are happening in, with and through the Church of Jesus Christ in our day are even about to be taken to a higher level.

In Matthew 16:18, Jesus said, “…I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” The word “Gates” is symbolic in prophetic language for “power and dominion.” The powers and dominion of hell shall not, and can never, prevail against the Church.

The Church, right from inception, has survived and endured many terrible persecutions, and will always outlive her enemies and detractors. That’s because the Word of God is clear: “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us” (Romans 8:35-37).

The Church will always have the victory; it’ll crush every opposition and conquer everyone who ever stands against it. That’s the blessing upon the Church. The Holy Spirit is the Boss of the Church, and He’s God. He’s doing His work, and we’re labourers together with Him. It’s impossible for us to fail.

We won before we started; we’re just acting out the script that’s already been written. The Amplified version of our theme verse says, “But thanks be to God, Who in Christ always leads us in triumph [as trophies of Christ's victory….” That’s what’s happening. We’re in a Holy Ghost victory parade. What you need is to stay focused on the work of the ministry, carrying it out with joy. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION
Being born again, I belong to the Church, the body of Christ. Therefore, I’m indestructible; no matter what happens, I always win, because the Word puts me over and guarantees my victory. Greater is He that’s in me than he that’s in the world. I reign and rule with Christ, now and always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES WEDNESDAY 4TH JANUARY 2023. Pastor Chris

TOPIC: ✨ IT’S FROM YOUR HEART ✨

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23).

Anything you want or could ever want won’t come to you from heaven or from anywhere else but from your heart. Your heart is the origin of all things, including matter. That’s what we read in our opening verse above.

Remember, universal matter came from the heart of God; everything was inside Him before He spoke them into being. You're made in the image and likeness of God; meaning that you look like Him and function like Him. Therefore, everything you’ll ever need in your life will come out of you—out of your heart.

That business you want to start, the new structure you want to set up, that new facility you need, including the capital; they’re all in your heart! Bring them forth from within you! The Bible says God has set, that means deposited, eternity in our hearts: “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart…”(Ecclesiastes 3:11).

Your heart has the potential for infinite capabilities and possibilities. You can bring forth anything from within your spirit. Think about it: if your heart can contain God (for He lives in your heart; you’re the temple of the Holy Spirit), then it means heaven and earth, life, success, victory and joy—all the good things you could ever imagine or desire—are in your heart.

The reverse is also true for the one who isn’t born again: his heart is the habitation of evil, darkness, wickedness, failure and death. Recall the words of the Lord Jesus in Matthew 12:35: “A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.”

Being born again, you’re the “good” man that Jesus talked about. You’re the one to produce whatever God wants in the earth: we permit and bring forth only the things that are consistent with His perfect will. Our hearts or spirits scrutinize everything and decide that only the will of the Lord will be done in our world and upon the earth (Romans 12:2). Hallelujah!

CONFESSION
From within, I bring forth success, victory, health, prosperity, joy and all the good things I desire. I walk in the glory of God today, and in the full blessings of the Gospel as I impact those in my world with the life and nature of Christ in me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY: Matthew 12:34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
