Here’s the English translation of the visible Czech text:
“Stations of the Cross ‘in the Filipino way’”
On Good Friday, Vysoké Mýto experienced for the first time a dramatically performed Passion story. It was prepared by Filipinos living in the diocese, together with Indian priest Fr. Arulraj Sampath, who serves in our diocese. About his service, he said: “As a missionary priest working in the Hradec Králové diocese, I am happy to share with you all the joy, peace, and happiness brought by the risen Lord Jesus.”
Fr. Stanislav Tomšíček from the parish of St. Lawrence in Vysoké Mýto asked me to celebrate a Mass in English for Filipino immigrants on December 7, 2025. Since then, I have been coming to serve in this parish every first and third week of the month. During this year’s Lent, Fr. Stanislav asked me to prepare, together with Filipino friends, a presentation of the Stations of the Cross for Good Friday.
The dramatic presentation of the Stations of the Cross was well prepared. It was performed bilingually—first reflections in English and then in Czech; the rest was in English, including the introduction, responses, and songs. Filipino friends delivered their performance beautifully and with great feeling. All spectators greatly appreciated it. It was the first time in the history of the Hradec Králové diocese that something like this took place.
The diocesan bishop Mons. Jan Vokál, auxiliary bishop Mons. Prokop Brož, vicar general Mons. Jan Paseka, and chancellor Mons. Pavel Boháč all highly praised the performance. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our archbishop Petr Mach for all his care and encouragement during my stay and service in the Hradec Králové diocese.
At the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, I celebrate Mass in English for international students studying at the nearby university, always on the first and third Saturday of the month at 5:00 PM. (srp)
