THEOLOGICAL SEMINARS OF ETHNIC RELIGIOUS STUDIES by ECER
The European Congress of Ethnic Religions (ECER) is delighted to announce the launch of its educational section, named "Theological Seminars of Ethnic Religious Studies."
The idea for organizing the seminars was conceived out of a need to present ethnic religions and traditions to a wider audience and to strengthen interreligious dialogue around them.
Ethnic religions and traditions are often not sufficiently taught in schools and universities, which leads to incomplete knowledge and misunderstandings about the worldview, theology, meanings, symbolism and pan-human values they represent.
The aim of the seminars is to fill these knowledge gaps, clarify any misunderstandings, and offer a comprehensive, scientifically documented understanding of ethnic religions and traditions.
At the same time, the aim is for participants to come into meaningful contact with the Beautiful and the Sublime that these traditions inspire, recognizing their contribution to the formation of human thought and culture.
Theological seminars will last more than 90 hours in total, during which nine (9) different ethnic religions and traditions will be presented by distinguished lecturers (Academics, Priests/Priestesses, Spiritual and Religious Leaders, Representatives of ethnic religions and traditions):

February: Latvian Religion — Dievturība - Dr. Uģis Nastevičs (Mg. paed., Ph.D.)
March: Roman Religion - Giuseppe Barbera (Pontifex Maximus of Pietas Gentile Community for the roman tradition)
April: Ásatrú - Koenraad Logghe (founder and former chairman of Traditie vzw – Ásatrú in the Low Countries (Flanders and the Netherlands))
May: Egyptian Religion - Dr Marios Koutsoukos (Department of Archaeology, Classics and Egyptology (ACE), University of Liverpool)
June: Hellenic Religion / Hellenism - Elena Petri (High Priestess of Hellenic Ethnic Religion, author, scholar of theology) & George Lizos (spiritual teacher, healer, author and priest of the Hellenic Ethnic Religion in Cyprus)

September: Indigenous Religions of Amazonia & Oceania - Dr Evgenia Fotiou (Assistant Professor of Social Anthropology, University of Crete)
October: Japanese Religion — Shintō - Dr. Uģis Nastevičs (Mg. paed., Ph.D.)
November: Lithuanian Religion — Romuva - Gailė Vanagienė
December: Sami Shamanism - Kyrre Gram Franck (founder of the Sjamanistisk Forbund / Norway)
