What Is a Hand Held Comfort or Prayer Cross?
A hand held prayer or comfort cross is made to fit comfortably in the palm the hand and the hand closed around it while praying or meditating on God’s word or when reading the bible. It can also be used to bring comfort while holding it when prayer is difficult or when one is going through a testing or difficult time. It can also be held while meditating on the Cross of Jesus by feeling the texture the wood and the way of the grain. The size of the cross enables it to be put in a pocket or hand-bag to be used during traveling or while taking a break during work time.
The crosses are make by using a prayer cross that was given to me by my vicar on my leaving England, as a pattern placed on a piece of wood and traced around which I then cut and shape . Each cross is unique due to the way they are cut and hand shaped and finish.
The crosses can be made to order if I have a name so that I can pray for that person specifically. Each cross is prayed over asking that the cross would be a blessing to the person that receives it.
