Your Excellency,
Today we welcome Mr Petros Nacouzi on his first official visit following his election as Representative of the Maronites to the House of Representatives. We receive him with sincere respect and appreciation, assuring him that this Archbishopric is his home and that the Church stands beside him with prayer, support and full confidence.
Our Maronite community in Cyprus is living through an important and demanding moment that calls for clear vision, responsible decisions and practical steps that bring real and visible results. Over the past decades many challenges have accumulated, and our Maronite villages, especially Asomatos, Ayia Marina and the Monastery of Prophet Elijah, require serious follow-up and active leadership that protects their rights, preserves their identity and strengthens their future.
For this reason, we see the importance of focused and responsible work through an action team with a clear purpose, working in a spirit of cooperation and commitment, and translating responsibility into concrete results that serve our people, our land and our community. The need today is for initiative, steady follow-up and meaningful achievement, in a way worthy of the history, mission and presence of the Maronites of Cyprus on this island.
On this occasion we express our appreciation and gratitude to Mr Yanaki Mousa, former Representative of the Maronites, for his faithful service and devoted care for our community.
Mr Petros, we place our confidence in you, and we pray that the Lord may bless your service, grant you wisdom, strength and perseverance, and make your journey fruitful and blessed for the good of our people, our villages and the future of our Maronite presence in Cyprus.
On behalf of all the priests of the Archdiocese, we offer you our warmest wishes and our heartfelt blessings.
