Please continue to lift us in prayer. That as things change, God would be pleased to allow us to continue to minister to the displaced people in Cyprus.

Pre - Camp Preparation: This morning was spent in orientation. Ben encouraging us to get our minds and hearts centered on serving those who were marginalized in their native country, only to come to Cyprus to again be marginalized. We've had a great time getting to know the Nessa family from Iowa, and have spent a season in prayer. Again, we thank everyone who is praying for us. Tomorrow the camp attendees arrive.

We have formed a team for a Cyprus Family Camp in July 2016, and are considering team members for a Discipleship Camp February 2017. If you're interested in more information regarding one of those camps, please get in touch with us.

As my granddaughter Salome would say as she waves both hands, "All done!" The first Discipleship Camp in Cyprus ended yesterday. These are the incredible brothers and sisters Nancy and I were blessed to minister along side of over the past week. What a blessing and encouragement you guys have been. Day #5 Discipleship Camp

"The Tearing of Fabric"

Burgi Oehler facilitated our team morning devotional by leading us through a Season of Prayer. Throughout the days of our week Burgi joins us in meetings, but during our in small groups, craft times, and Quiet Times, Burgi is praying for us. This morning Burgi said she felt led to pray for camp attendees who are suffering with deep wounds. She asked who we could pray for and immediately 3 names were suggested.

For our morning discussion topic Jake Anderson led a discussion on "Listening to God". Aaron Smith led our evening discussion on the topic of "Dealing with Manipulation".

Throughout the day there's been a constant awareness that this is our last full day. Closing discussions have intensified. People hugging, tears, and "good byes" have been frequent throughout the day as some attendees are leaving early. It's been less than a week, but already the thought of going separate ways is like tearing fabric.

Please pray that during the week sufficient seeds have been sown. And that from the efforts of many there will be a harvest.

Day #3 Discipleship Camp

"Who is Jesus to you?"

Pamela Anderson lead our team morning devotional as she shared, "Who we are in Christ". Her husband Byron then had both the morning and afternoon discussion topics to cover the matter of "Forgiveness". By questions and comments it was apparent that both our team members, and camp attendees have matters to resolve here.

Although the discussion in each small group is confidential, I think each small group was fruitful. In our small group, upon sitting down the 17 y/o said, "I have a question. What's the difference between Christians, Muslims, Catholics, and Coptic Christians?" And just like that we were in "deep waters". (So glad (Pastor) Jake Anderson is in my small group. Whew!) But the one thing I did contribute to the discussion was this: We can argue, debate, and discuss various religions, differences, beliefs, and whose right or wrong; but eventually it will come down to everyone's answer to this -

"Who is Jesus to you?"

We gave each man an opportunity to convey his thoughts and/or concerns about Christianity. One young man said he "prays everyday that Jesus will change his heart". Please pray for Hanoke.

This picture is of Jake Anderson engaging a question in our small group.
