Today, Jews around the world mark Gimmel Tammuz, the Yahrzeit of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson of righteous memory.

For millions of people, the Rebbe's teachings continue to serve as a source of inspiration, guidance, and hope. The Rebbe taught that every individual has the ability to make a positive difference in the world through acts of kindness, education, faith, and personal responsibility.

Although Gimmel Tammuz commemorates the Rebbe's passing in 1994, it is also a day of reflection on his enduring legacy and the countless educational, humanitarian, and spiritual initiatives that continue to flourish across the globe through his inspiration.

The Rebbe believed in the infinite value of every person and encouraged each of us to illuminate our surroundings with goodness, purpose, and compassion. His message remains as relevant today as ever: that one small act of goodness can transform a life, a community, and ultimately the world.

May his teachings continue to inspire us to increase in kindness, unity, and acts of goodness.

На протяжении многих лет наша миква верно служит еврейским женщинам по всему Кипру, предоставляя святое пространство для духовного обновления, соблюдения законов семейной чистоты и укрепления связи с еврейской традицией.

К сожалению, сегодня миква сильно устарела и износилась, и временные ремонты уже не могут решить существующие проблемы. После многих лет непрерывного использования ей необходима полная реконструкция, чтобы она могла и дальше служить нашей общине с достоинством, комфортом и в соответствии с самыми высокими стандартами.

Это не просто строительный проект — это инвестиция в будущее еврейской жизни на Кипре. С вашей помощью мы сможем восстановить и модернизировать микву, чтобы она продолжала выполнять свою важную миссию для еврейских женщин и семей ещё как минимум 20 лет и более.

For many years, our mikvah has faithfully served Jewish women across Cyprus, providing a sacred space for spiritual renewal, family purity, and connection to Jewish tradition.

In a diaspora community made up of Israelis, expats, and visitors, this holiday serves as a powerful reminder of our shared heritage and the spiritual contract that binds us together as one family. Standing together to hear the Ten Commandments read in the synagogue mirrors the ancient gathering at Mount Sinai, proving that no matter where we are in the world, our collective soul remains deeply rooted in the same divine wisdom.

The festival is also a celebration of spiritual growth and renewal within our growing community here on the island. By staying up through the night to study Torah, we actively demonstrate our ongoing commitment to passing these timeless values down to the next generation in Cyprus. Shavuot reminds us that the Torah is not a static historical document but a living guide that illuminates our daily lives, inspires our acts of kindness, and strengthens the warm community bonds we enjoy every day under the Cypriot sky.

I will B’ezras Hashem recite יזכור in the central synagogue and would be honoured to mention the names of your dear loved ones during the prayers.

Στην καρδιά του να είναι κανείς καλός άνθρωπος βρίσκεται η δέσμευση σε πανανθρώπινες αξίες που ξεπερνούν τον πολιτισμό, τη θρησκεία ή την καταγωγή. The 7 Noahide Laws are a set of moral guidelines given by G-d for all of humanity, originating from the Torah and aimed at creating a just and ethical world. They apply to everyone, regardless of religion or background, offering a universal moral framework.

Kindness, justice, and respect for others are the foundation of a harmonious society. When we act with compassion, seek fairness, and uphold the dignity of others, we not only improve our lives but also contribute to a better world.

Ο Ραβίνος Ράσκιν δήλωσε: "Όποιος σώζει μια ζωή, είναι σαν να σώζει έναν ολόκληρο κόσμο. Καλώ όλα τα μέλη της κοινότητας σε όλο το νησί να αφιερώσουν χρόνο για να δώσουν αίμα. Όποιος έχει τη δυνατότητα να προσφέρει, ας το πράξει."
