-Giving to St Andrew's
Following a conversation about Gift Aid with a member of the congregation, we thought it might be sensible to mention some aspects of giving.
During the last years, God has been remarkably gracious in terms of providing for our needs. That has occurred through the generosity of many and we are deeply grateful. A downside of a largely anonymous system is we don't know whom to thank. So thank you for what you do do. Thank you.
It might be that you are provoked to review your giving. There is a tax efficient way to do so which is through the Parish Giving Scheme. This is a national arrangement to whom you pay either monthly, quarterly or annually or as a one off gift. They then organise to collect Gift Aid on eligible donations and pass the money to the appropriate church.
Should you be moved to do such a thing then this is the address to head to https://www.parishgiving.org.uk/donors/find-your-parish/sandon-st-andrew-chelmsford/
And thank you.

-Cremated Remains Area repairs
The Churchwardens plan to arrange removal of the rails in this area temporarily so that supports can be replaced with oak at a cost of about £1300. Donations for the work will be gratefully received. Please either put cash into the church wall box or use this link. Many Thanks

The Parish Giving Scheme (PGS) is a simple and secure way for churches to receive gifts by Direct Debit, Credit and Debit Cards, Apple and Google Pay methods. We are committed to easing the administrative burden for churches, while empowering all generations to give with confidence and to feel value...

😁Firstly a huge thank you to all those who came along to our Summer Fete on Saturday. It was certainly hot but the shade of the trees in the churchyard and the coolness of the church provided us with the perfect location. We were sorry not to have the dog show but it was a great church-community event, with lots of friends old and new & lots of fun had by all.
Thanks again for your support🥹.

Due to the extreme heat, the RSPCA and St Andrew’s Church have decided to cancel the dog show. We need to keep our dogs protected 🐾❤️

We do have Children’s Corner though with Football, Face Painting and other activities

Also, enter your name on the Football Scratch card to see if your team wins

We have a BBQ, refreshments and cake stall too - perhaps bring a cool bag to carry your cakes home 😁

It would be wonderful if you could come and support our village church. See you between 12-3pm on Saturday in St Andrew’s Churchyard

Monthly Eco tip for May
Create a larder for bees. Choose flowers that bees can get into easily and provide them with a banquet of food. Some useful information is online here: http://www.gardenersworld.com/plants/plant- inspiration/plants-for-bees/
Plan for slugs. When it comes to sowing and planting, assume you'll have some casualties and plant more than you need. When planting out seedlings, make a circle of crushed eggshells around each one – slugs don't like crawling on a rough ground.
