Priesthood is the legal and spiritual system that God designed to access, administer, and sustain His governmental authority on earth.
You're not just saved to worship, you're appointed to govern, to rule and administer His will.
Rev 5:10
Technology is a system of laws and processes that produce a predictable result when applied correctly. God's priesthood is the same.
So priesthood is equal to the interface between heavens government and earth.
It's how God's will is downloaded and enforced.
Priesthood is needed because the earth and other realms have been ordained to be governed.
There are laws that govern every realm and there are legal entities appointed to enact the laws over the realms.
Both in the kingdom of God and of the devil, men and spirits operate as legislators, legislating the laws that have been put by God.
Priesthood is the place of legislating.
And there are laws of Holy priesthood.
As believers in Christ, we must understand the difference between the things we have received by virtue of the finished works of Christ and the things we have to activate in order to experience some things here by the virtue of our walk with God.
We must discern the difference between the vertical truths and horizontal truths.
There is authority we have received in Christ by virtue of our sonship, there are gifts of the Spirit we have received by virtue of the Holy Spirit given in and to us, there is the name of Jesus we have that permits us to cast out devils, speak in other tongues, heal the sick, perform diverse supernatural manifestations.
But,
There is another dimension of this life that has different sets of rules.
We are talking about governance.
There is a system that determines who rules, and the one who rules is the one who reigns.
There is governmental power.
So, while you are enjoying your authority in Christ, there are things that will demand governmental power for you to make it, and if you don't know and have this as a believer, no matter how much revelation you have about the authority of Christ, you will still come short in many things.
After Paul had revealed the oneness of Christ and the believer and the placement of the believer in the highest heaven in Ephesians chapters 1 to 3, he started showing how the believer ought to walk with God from chapter 4, and when he reached chapter 6, he ended his epistle by revealing that there are evil spiritual entities possessing legal powers that needs legal applications to be able to deal with them and their systems.
Principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world, spiritual wickedness in high places.
While we have received the authority of Christ to cast out devils, these other ranks of evil spiritual beings require legislature to be able to dethrone them.
This is where governmental power is required.
This is where priesthood comes in.
