CHRISTMAS: THE CELEBRATION OF CHRIST IN YOU

To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27).

For some people, Christmas is all about food and family. So, on Christmas day, they make sure to get around family, eat, feast and be merry. But beyond the merry-making, Christmas is about Christ: who He is, what He came to do, and the fact that He actually accomplished His purpose. Had He not accomplished His purpose, life would have been empty.

He came, lived, died, and came back to life that you might live. He said in John 10:10 (AMPC), “…I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).” 1 John 3:8 says, “…For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” This same Jesus is coming again, and it's time to serve Him truly; it's time to know Him for sure.

Titus 2:13 tells us something beautiful about who He is—He’s the great God and our Saviour: “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ." Did you see that? Jesus is God. When He was born among us, He was called “Emmanuel,” God with us.

In Colossians 1:19, the Bible says, the fullness of Deity resides in Him. The totality of divinity dwells in Jesus Christ: “For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily” (Colossians 2:9). Jesus Christ is the body of God; everything that God is, is in Jesus.

But here’s the most inspiring part: this Jesus, the great God and our Saviour, isn’t just with you today but in you. That’s what we read in our opening scripture: Christ in you the hope of glory. *TRANSCENDENTLY BLESSED*

_*Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3).*_

As a Christian, there's no blessing from God that's not already in you and actively at work in your life. You've been blessed with ALL spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. Just imagine any blessing you want; it's already yours because you're in Christ; the blessings are in Christ. 2 Corinthians 1:20 tells us that all the blessings of God in Christ are yes and amen to the glory of God. Hallelujah!

It explains why Peter declares in 1 Peter 3:9, _*"Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing."*_ In Christ Jesus, we're supremely and graciously blessed; no curse can work against you. You're seated together with Christ in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6), far above all principality and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named not only in this world, but also in that which is to come (Ephesians 1:21).

Therefore, from where and from whom would the curse come? Remember the story of Balaam, a prophet hired by Balak to curse Israel. He realized that no curse or enchantment could prevail against God's chosen people. God had blessed them, and no external power could undo that blessing. Numbers 23:23 says, _*"Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel...."*_

If the Old Testament Israel couldn't be cursed, how much more the Church of Christ, also called the Israel of God? Hallelujah! No evil machinations, enchantments or witchcraft can work against you. 𝐆𝐄𝐓 𝐆𝐎𝐃’𝐒 𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍!

🔴“By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name” (Hebrews 13:15)

🔴I’ve seen people try to bring down the heavens with their praise.

🔴 They praise God so loud with their voices until they shout themselves hoarse.

🔴Anybody can sing, dance and shout to praise God.

🔴Now, there’s nothing wrong with praising God with dancing and shouting and singing; the Word actually says to do that.

🔴However, there’s a kind of praise that gets God’s attention.

🔴 I am talking about a kind of praise God cannot but respond to.

🔴That was the kind of praise Solomon gave God. Indeed, Solomon praised God with his voice and danced, but he didn’t stop there.

🔴He thought much of this great God of glory and honored Him with his substance.

🔴He offered such sacrifices to God as no king ever had a thousand burnt offerings (1 Kings 3:3 – 4), and that got God’s attention.

🔴Later that same night, God showed up in his bedroom and told him, Ask Me for anything.

🔴I mean, God gave him an open cheque.

🔴 Solomon could draw anything he desired on God’s account because he praised God with his substance.

🔴This is the kind of praise I’m talking about. When you give yourself to God like this, He ministers to you personally.

🔴Little wonder the Apostle Paul had such wonderful visions of God.

🔴That’s the man who said, And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you… (2 Corinthians 12:15).

🔴The Lord appeared to him in visions and He had angels minister to him several times.

🔴He enjoyed so much attention from God because he had given everything and was ever willing to give anything to God.

🔴Whatever came into his hands went to the gospel.

🔴 You too can get God’s attention this way by becoming committed to Him with your substance.

🔴Position yourself in the way of God’s blessing; give Him sacrificial praise today.
