*Le sursis à exécution* (Romains 6:23)

Le sursis à exécution est une mesure judiciaire qui suspend l'application de la peine d'un condamné ou d'une décision. Ainsi, on met en pause l'exécution d'une décision en attendant autre chose. Sur le plan pénal par exemple, une personne peut être condamnée à 6 mois de prison, mais le juge prononce cette peine avec sursis : si, dans un espace de temps bien déterminé, elle ne commet pas la même bêtise, la peine ne s'applique pas. Cette dernière doit toutefois savoir qu'une peine pèse sur elle. Elle est condamnée, quoique libre.

La Bible nous dit : « Car tous ont péché et sont privés de la gloire de Dieu » *(Actes 17:30-31).* En effet, depuis la désobéissance de l'homme dans le jardin d'Éden, la colère de DIEU s'est étendue sur le genre humain, qui s'est vendu au diable et s'est révolté contre DIEU. Or, comme la transgression implique une rétribution selon Hébreux 2:2, il est écrit dans *Romains 6:23* : « Car le salaire du péché… ». Ainsi, tous les êtres humains sont condamnés à la mort. Mais leur peine n'est pas exécutée, car DIEU ne veut pas la mort du pécheur, selon qu'il est dit dans Ézéchiel 18:32 : « Car je ne désire pas la mort de celui qui meurt, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel. Convertissez-vous donc, et vivez ». Ainsi, quoique condamnés à mort, DIEU attend des hommes qu'ils se convertissent. De ce fait, non seulement la peine ne sera pas exécutée, mais elle sera totalement annulée. C'est pour cette raison qu'il a envoyé JÉSUS-CHRIST, afin qu'en croyant en Lui nos péchés soient effacés *(Jean 3:16).* Et pour cette cause, JÉSUS-CHRIST a payé le prix de notre transgression par sa mort sur la croix, et par Son sang nos péchés sont effacés. C'est pour cela qu'il est dit, toujours dans *Romains 6:23* : « Car le salaire du péché, c'est la mort ; mais le don gratuit de Dieu, c'est la vie éternelle en Jésus-Christ notre Seigneur ».

DIEU a mis en place tout un dispositif d'amour pour que tous les hommes aient la possibilité non seulement d'un sursis à exécution de la peine capitale, mais aussi de l'annulation totale de la faute commise, afin de vivre éternellement, comme cela était prévu dès le commencement.

Le jugement de DIEU ne portera plus sur le pourquoi ou le comment nous avons péché *(Jean 3:17),* mais sur le pourquoi nous avons refusé la main tendue de DIEU, qui nous accordait un sursis à exécution sous réserve de notre conversion.

Et là, celui qui, de tout son vivant sur la terre, aura refusé cette grâce ne pourra pas y échapper, car il est écrit : « De quel pire châtiment pensez-vous que sera jugé digne celui qui aura foulé aux pieds le Fils de Dieu, qui aura tenu pour profane le sang de l'alliance, par lequel il a été sanctifié, et qui aura outragé l'Esprit de la grâce ? » *(Hébreux 10:29).*

Ainsi, que chacun profite donc de son sursis pour obtenir l'annulation totale de sa faute.

En conclusion, il est écrit : « Dieu, sans tenir compte des temps d'ignorance, annonce maintenant à tous les hommes, en tous lieux, qu'ils aient à se repentir, parce qu'il a fixé un jour où il jugera le monde selon la justice, par l'homme qu'il a désigné, ce dont il a donné à tous une preuve certaine en le ressuscitant des morts... » ( *Actes 17:30-31).*

*The Stay of Ex*****on* (Romans 6:23)

A stay of ex*****on is a judicial measure that suspends the enforcement of a sentence or a decision. Thus, the ex*****on of a decision is put on hold while awaiting something else. In criminal matters, for example, a person may be sentenced to 6 months in prison, but the judge may pronounce the sentence with a stay of ex*****on: if, within a clearly determined period of time, the person does not commit the same offence again, the sentence will not be enforced. The person must nevertheless understand that a sentence hangs over them. They are condemned, although free.

The Bible tells us: “ _And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world._ ” ( *Acts 17:30-31* ). Indeed, since man's disobedience in the Garden of Eden, the wrath of GOD has extended over mankind, which has sold itself to the devil and rebelled against GOD. Now, since transgression implies a recompense according to *Hebrews 2:2* , it is written in *Romans 6:23* : “ _For the wages of sin_ …” Thus, all human beings are condemned to death. But their sentence is not carried out, because GOD does not desire the death of the sinner, according to what is said in *Ezekiel 18:32* : “ _For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye._ ” Thus, although condemned to death, GOD waits for men to repent. As a result, not only will the sentence not be carried out, but it will be completely cancelled. It is for this reason that He sent JESUS CHRIST, so that by believing in Him our sins may be blotted out ( *John 3:16* ). And for this cause, JESUS CHRIST paid the price for our transgression by His death on the cross, and by His blood our sins are blotted out. That is why it is said, again in *Romans 6:23* : “ _For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”_

GOD has put in place an entire arrangement of love so that all men may have the opportunity not only to receive a stay of ex*****on from the death penalty, but also to have the guilt of the offence committed completely cancelled, in order to live eternally, as was intended from the beginning.

The judgment of GOD will no longer concern why or how we sinned ( *John 3:17* ), but why we refused the outstretched hand of GOD, which granted us a stay of ex*****on on the condition of our conversion.

And then, he who, throughout his entire life on earth, has refused this grace will not be able to escape it, for it is written: “ _Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace_ ?” ( *Hebrews 10:29* ).

Therefore, let each one take advantage of his stay of ex*****on in order to obtain the complete cancellation of his guilt.

In conclusion, it is written: “ _And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead..._ ” ( *Acts 17:30-31* ).

*JESUS CHRIST Is Coming Soon* (Revelation 22:20)

The return of the LORD JESUS CHRIST remains a major event, awaited by all mankind on the earth. Indeed, His second coming marks the end of all things and the beginning of a new era. For some people, this is merely a religious imagination without any scientific basis, for they believe that the world can only come to an end as a result of man's activity on the environment through phenomena such as climate change with its trail of bushfires, floods, and the melting of glaciers; devastating innovations; droughts and famines; as well as the nuclear threat. However, JESUS CHRIST Himself never ceased reminding mankind that He is coming again. He told His disciples long before His death, drawing their attention to one undeniable truth: HE IS COMING AGAIN (John 14:1–3; Luke 12:40; Matthew 25:31...). The angels also testified of it ( *Acts 1:11).* JESUS further confirms it to John in a revelation: “ _Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.”_ ( *Revelation 1:7* )

JESUS CHRIST is coming back to judge the world and to reward every man according to his works. It is an appointment from which no one will escape.

Throughout His entire ministry, the LORD JESUS CHRIST made this appointment the central point and the culmination of His message. The apostles also placed great emphasis on this reality. Their entire work was aimed at drawing the world's attention to the return of the LORD JESUS CHRIST for the great judgment. Every Christian, in particular, should prepare himself so as not to be caught by surprise by this unique event that all humanity must experience.

JESUS CHRIST is coming soon. _“...his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.”_ ( *Hosea 6:3* ) He will come as a thief in the night.

The devil is at work so that men may remain ignorant of this event. He mocks the return of the LORD through scoffers. He also distracts men with the fleeting trivialities of this world, vanities destined for destruction.

The devil also distracts men through a multitude of false preachers who work to attach the hearts of men to material possessions through " _evangelism_ " without CHRIST, promises of material prosperity, lying miracles, financial breakthroughs, promotions, visas, and similar things. All these eventually cause Christians to forget that the true reason for their faith is to await the return of the LORD JESUS CHRIST.

Yes, this world will pass away, not because of climate change or asteroids striking the earth, but because of the coming of the LORD JESUS CHRIST. This is what apostle Peter reveals when he says: “ _But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up._ ” *(2 Peter 3:10* )

Apostle Paul declares emphatically: “ _If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.”_ ( *1 Corinthians 15:19* ) We believe and persevere despite every difficulty because JESUS CHRIST is coming soon. That is why this exhortation remains more relevant than ever: _“Prepare to meet thy God_ .” ( *Amos 4:12* )

*JÉSUS-CHRIST revient bientôt* (Apocalypse 22:20)

Le retour du Seigneur JÉSUS-CHRIST reste et demeure un événement majeur, attendu par tous les hommes sur la terre. En effet, sa seconde venue marque la fin de toute chose et le commencement d'une nouvelle ère. Pour certaines personnes, cela relèverait simplement d'une imagination religieuse, sans aucun fondement scientifique ; car pour elles, le monde ne peut prendre fin que suite à l'activité des hommes sur leur environnement, par des phénomènes tels que : le changement climatique avec son cortège de feu de brousse, les inondations et la fonte des glaciers; des innovations dévastatrices; les sécheresses et les famines; ainsi que la menace nucléaire. Cependant, JÉSUS-CHRIST lui-même n'a cessé de rappeler aux hommes qu'il revient. Il l'a dit à ses disciples bien avant sa mort, attirant leur attention sur une évidence : IL VA REVENIR (Jean 14 :1-3 ; Luc 12 :40 ; Matthieu 25 :31...). Les anges l'ont attesté (Actes 1:11). Jésus l'atteste encore à Jean dans une révélation : « Voici, il vient avec les nuées. Et tout œil le verra, même ceux qui l'ont percé ; et toutes les tribus de la terre se lamenteront à cause de lui. Oui. Amen ! » *(Apocalypse 1:7).*

JÉSUS-CHRIST revient pour juger le monde et rendre à chacun selon ce qu’est son œuvre. C’est un rendez-vous auquel personne n’échappera.

Durant tout Son ministère, le Seigneur JÉSUS-CHRIST a fait de ce rendez-vous le point central et l’aboutissement de Son message. Les apôtres ont également insisté davantage sur cette réalité. Tout leur travail avait pour but d’attirer l’attention du monde sur le retour du Seigneur JÉSUS-CHRIST pour le grand tribunal. Plus particulièrement, chaque chrétien devrait se préparer afin de ne pas être surpris par cet événement unique que l’humanité tout entière doit vivre.

JÉSUS-CHRIST revient bientôt. « … Sa venue est aussi certaine que celle de l’aurore. Il viendra pour nous comme la pluie, comme la pluie du printemps qui arrose la terre. » *(Osée 6:3).* Il viendra comme un voleur dans la nuit.

Le diable œuvre afin que les hommes demeurent ignorants de cet événement. Il tourne en bourrique le retour du Seigneur au moyen des moqueurs… Il distrait également les hommes par les futilités éphémères de ce monde, des vanités destinées à la destruction.

Le diable distrait encore les hommes par une cohorte de faux prédicateurs qui travaillent à attacher le cœur des hommes aux biens matériels à travers des "évangélisations" sans CHRIST, les promesses de prospérité matérielle, les miracles mensongers, les percées financières, les élévations, les visas... Toutes ces choses finissent par faire oublier aux chrétiens que la véritable raison de leur croyance est d'attendre le retour du Seigneur JÉSUS-CHRIST.

Oui, ce monde va passer, non pas à cause du changement climatique ni des astéroïdes qui viendraient percuter la terre, mais par la venue du Seigneur JÉSUS-CHRIST. C'est ce que nous révèle l'apôtre Pierre lorsqu'il dit : «Le jour du Seigneur viendra comme un voleur; en ce jour, les cieux passeront avec fracas, les éléments embrasés se dissoudront, et la terre avec les oeuvres qu'elle renferme sera consumée» *(2 Pierre 3:10).*

L'apôtre Paul déclare avec emphase : « Si c'est dans cette vie seulement que nous espérons en CHRIST, nous sommes les plus malheureux de tous les hommes. » *(1 Corinthiens 15:19).* Nous croyons et persévérons malgré toutes les difficultés parce que JÉSUS-CHRIST revient bientôt. C'est pourquoi cette exhortation demeure plus actuelle que jamais : « Prépare-toi à la rencontre de ton Dieu. » *(Amos 4:12).*
