Pope Leo XIV has appointed Mgr Paul Nyaga, Secretary General of the National Episcopal Conference of Cameroon, as Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Edea.

He will oversee the affairs of the diocese as Bishop Dieudonne Ntep retires after years of dedicated pastoral service.

The appointment was announced this Thursday, June 4, during the 51st Ordinary Plenary Assembly of the Bishops of Cameroon in Yaounde.

The President of the National Episcopal Conference of Cameroon, Archbishop Andrew Nkea, delivered the Papal announcement.

Born in 1959, Mgr Paul Nyaga has served as Secretary General of the National Episcopal Conference since April 2024.

Prior to this appointment, he had served as Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Douala.
