EASTER SERVICE REPORT
FULL GOSPEL MISSION MEWOULOU AKA BETHEL CENTER

Opening Scriptures and Prayer Charge

Led by: Deacon Alain Shutang

The service began with a prayer charge anchored on the following scriptures:

- Psalm 40:8 – “I delight to do Your will, O my God…”
- Matthew 6:10 – “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
- John 4:34 – “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me…”

The emphasis was on aligning with the will of God, highlighting that the will of God is not something to be negotiated but something to be delighted in. The congregation was encouraged to understand that when God decides to act, no power can hinder Him.

Preacher: Elder Atanga
Theme: It Happened on Sunday Morning
Text: Matthew 27:62–66; 28:1–15

The sermon centered on the events surrounding the burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, emphasizing that “it happened on Sunday morning,” which signifies that although breakthroughs may be delayed, they are never denied.

The Situation at the Tomb

Following the burial of Jesus, three major obstacles were placed at the tomb to ensure that nothing would happen:

1. The Seal
2. The Stone
3. The Roman Soldier

These were deliberate measures taken to secure the tomb and prevent any interference. However, on Sunday morning, when Mary and others went to anoint the body of Jesus despite their concerns, they discovered that God had already intervened. The seal was broken, the stone rolled away, and the soldier was no longer a barrier.

Key Lessons

1. The Seal – Powers and Authorities

The seal represented authority and power—forces that could not ordinarily be challenged. Spiritually, it symbolizes:

- Powers that oppose destinies
- Systems that limit progress
- Negative declarations that hinder success

The message emphasized that although such powers are real and can influence situations, the resurrection power of Jesus Christ is greater than all powers, and when God moves, every authority must bow.

2. The Stone – Problems and Challenges

The stone symbolized life’s difficulties, including:

- Financial struggles
- Family and marital issues
- Seemingly impossible situations

It was noted that the enemy is not harmless, as he can delay, ridicule, and frustrate individuals. However, the congregation was reminded that God goes ahead of His people to remove every obstacle, and nothing is impossible with Him.

3. The Soldier – Human Opposition

The soldier represented human resistance, including:

- Wicked individuals
- False friends
- Unsupportive relatives or loved ones

The sermon highlighted that sometimes opposition comes from those closest to us. Nevertheless, no human power can stop what God has ordained.

Reflection

A thought-provoking question was raised:
While these supernatural events were taking place at the tomb, where were Peter and the other disciples?

This illustrated that at times, when God is working, expected support from others may be absent. The congregation was reminded that destiny depends on God, not on people.

The Turning Point: Sunday Morning was presented as a symbol of:

- Victory after delay
- Light after darkness
- Life after death

The women came with concerns about the obstacles, but God had already resolved everything before their arrival.

Proof of the Resurrection

The preacher emphasized that the resurrection of Jesus is foundational to the Christian faith:

Without the resurrection:

- The cross would be meaningless
- The Bible would be mere history
- The Church would lack purpose

Because Jesus rose:

- The cross carries power
- The Word of God is alive
- The Church stands firm

It was further highlighted that Jesus appeared to His disciples and many others after His resurrection. The disciples boldly preached this truth, even to the point of death, because they were convinced that Jesus is alive.

The Transforming Power of Christ

The resurrection signifies transformation:

- Believers are no longer who they used to be
- Old ways have passed away
- New life has begun

The congregation acknowledged experiencing God’s mercy, grace, and protection, recognizing that it is only by His mercy that they are sustained.

The Love and Eternal Nature of Christ

The sermon concluded by emphasizing:

- The unmatched love of Jesus
- His continued care and interest in the lives of believers
- His good plans for His people

Jesus is alive forever, will never die again, and continues to fight the battles of His people.

Closing Prayer

The service concluded with a prayer of thanksgiving for the power of the resurrection. The congregation collectively declared that:

- Every seal (power)
- Every stone (problem)
- Every soldier (opposition)

must bow to the name of Jesus Christ.

A declaration was made that every obstacle has been removed, as God has already gone ahead, and that each individual’s breakthrough will manifest—on their Sunday morning in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Preacher: Rev. Ketu Isaac
Theme: Why We Celebrate Palm Sunday and the Shift from Physical Symbols to Spiritual Expression in Pentecostal Worship
Text: Matthew 21:1–11 (in fulfillment of Zechariah 9:9)

Palm Sunday marks the beginning of the most significant week in Christianity—Holy Week. This sacred journey leads us to Good Friday, the day of Christ’s crucifixion, and culminates in Easter Sunday, when He rose victoriously from the dead.

This day commemorates the fulfillment of prophecy as declared in Zechariah 9:9 and fulfilled in Matthew 21. The prophecy announced the coming of a King, not in splendor or earthly dominance, but riding on a donkey—a powerful symbol of peace, humility, and gentleness. Unlike earthly rulers who display power through chariots and riches, Jesus revealed a kingdom founded on humility and righteousness.

As Jesus entered Jerusalem, the people welcomed Him with palm branches and garments, shouting, “Hosanna!” meaning, “Save us!” This was their way of honoring Him as King.

However, in Pentecostal practice today, we do not emphasize physical symbols such as carrying palm branches or wearing clerical collars. This is because our worship has shifted from outward expressions to inward reality. The focus is no longer on what we carry physically, but on what we embody spiritually.

Carrying a palm branch without reflecting the life of Christ is empty. Wearing a collar without living in obedience to God lacks meaning. True worship is not in symbols, but in a transformed life.

We do not carry physical palms because we are called to carry a spiritual burden for God’s kingdom. We do not wear outward signs to prove our calling, but we demonstrate it through character, service, and submission to God. Likewise, we do not carry a physical cross, because we are called to take up our cross daily through sacrifice and faithful living.

Key Lessons from Palm Sunday:

1. The Revelation of Jesus as King
Palm Sunday reveals Jesus as the true King. While men can serve in various ways, only Jesus has the power to save our souls.

2. A King Like No Other
Jesus distinguished Himself through humility. By choosing a donkey instead of a chariot, He showed that His kingdom is not based on worldly power, but on meekness and divine authority.

3. From Physical Symbols to Spiritual Reality
The use of palms by the crowd was an outward act of honor, but today, believers are called to a deeper level—living out what those symbols represent. Our lives must reflect Christ, not just our actions in church.

4. The Beginning of Holy Week: Victory Through Sacrifice
Palm Sunday marks the start of a journey to the cross. It reminds us that true victory comes through sacrifice, obedience, and surrender.

5. A Warning Against Shallow Faith
The same crowd that cried “Hosanna!” later demanded His crucifixion. This serves as a warning against unstable and superficial faith. We are called to remain steadfast, not just in moments of excitement, but in times of testing.

Palm Sunday is more than a historical celebration—it is a spiritual call. A call to move beyond outward appearances and embrace a life of true devotion, humility, and sacrifice.

It reminds us that God is not looking for what we carry in our hands, but what we carry in our hearts.

Theme: Attacking the Spirit of Nudity
Text: Habakkuk 2:15

Nudity is the state of being without clothing—being uncovered, especially in areas meant to be hidden. It refers to exposing the sensitive parts of the body.

However, beyond the physical, there is also spiritual nudity. A person can be physically dressed yet spiritually uncovered—especially in areas such as finances, morality, and character. Spiritual nudity is closely linked to shame, loss of covering, and sexual immorality.

From the beginning, nakedness became associated with shame after the fall of man in the Garden of Eden. What was once natural became something to be covered, symbolizing the need for spiritual covering and righteousness.

Signs of the Spirit of Nudity:

A. Obsession with Exposing the Body

This is the primary sign from which many others flow.

1. A strong and constant urge to expose sensitive parts of the body, whether in public or online.

2. Seeking attention, validation, or even financial gain through indecent exposure.

3. A deliberate desire to dress indecently, even when one knows it is inappropriate.

4. Feeling uncomfortable in modest clothing and intentionally altering outfits to reveal more of the body.

5. Engaging in practices such as indecent photoshoots (e.g., n**e or semi-n**e pregnancy shoots shared publicly).

This obsession reflects a deeper spiritual issue—a loss of the sense of dignity and covering.

B. Loss of Conviction and Shame

At this stage, the person no longer feels any inner restraint regarding nudity or immorality.

1. Openly celebrating immoral behavior without remorse.

2. Mocking modesty and those who uphold it.

3. Justifying actions with statements like, “It’s my body; I can do what I want.”

4. Developing an addiction to sexual attention and validation.

5. Feeling valued only when receiving compliments about physical appearance or sensual appeal.

This reflects a hardened conscience and a growing separation from godly standards.

C. Sexual Lifestyle and Bo***ge

What begins as exposure gradually becomes a lifestyle.

1. Engagement in po*******hy, ma********on, fornication, adultery, and seductive behaviors.

2. Being driven into both private and public bo***ge, as warned in Habakkuk 2:15.

3. A gradual normalization of sin, where immorality becomes a daily pattern of life.

D. Rejection of Spiritual Covering and Accountability

1. Hatred or resistance toward spiritual guidance, correction, and accountability.

2. Avoidance of mentors and spiritual leaders who teach holiness and discipline.

3. Labeling the church as “too strict” or dismissing biblical standards.

4. Claiming that holiness is old-fashioned.

5. Misusing statements like, “God only cares about the heart,” to justify outward misconduct.

This stage reflects a complete rejection of spiritual authority and covering, which leaves the individual even more exposed.

The spirit of nudity is not just about physical exposure—it is a spiritual condition of being uncovered, unprotected, and disconnected from God’s standards.

God calls His people not only to be clothed physically, but to be covered spiritually with righteousness, dignity, and holiness.

To overcome this spirit, one must:

Return to conviction and repentance

Embrace modesty and self-control

Submit to spiritual covering and accountability

Pursue a life of holiness both inwardly and outwardly

God is not only concerned with how we appear outwardly, but with how we live inwardly. True covering begins from the heart and is reflected in our choices, our lifestyle, and our reverence for Him.
