The Bread of Life: Satisfying Spiritual Hunger
John 6:22-59

In John 6, Jesus feeds 5,000 with five loaves of bread, a miracle that sparks curiosity and expectation. But Jesus knows their hearts are hungry for more than physical bread. He declares, "I am the bread of life" (John 6:35).

THE HUNGER WE CAN'T SATISFY OURSELVES
We all have hungers – for meaning, purpose, love, and fulfillment. We try to fill these voids with things that ultimately can't satisfy: achievements, relationships, possessions. But Jesus says, "Come to me, and you will never go hungry" (John 6:35).

JESUS: THE BREAD OF LIFE
Jesus is the bread that came down from heaven (John 6:41). He is God's provision for our deepest hungers:
- Life: He gives eternal life (John 6:40, 47).
- Satisfaction: He satisfies our spiritual thirst (John 6:35).
- Unity: We are united with God through Him (John 6:56-57).

FAITH: EATING THE BREAD
Jesus calls us to "eat His flesh and drink His blood" (John 6:53-54) – a hard saying, but a beautiful invitation to abide in Him, to trust and follow Him.

PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Jesus, the Bread of Life. We acknowledge our hunger and thirst for something more. Help us come to Jesus, feed on Him, and find satisfaction in Him alone. May we abide in Him, trusting His promise of eternal life. Amen.

The Supremacy of Christ (Colossians 1:15-20)
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation... - Colossians 1:15

2. FALSE TEACHINGS: The Colossians were influenced by Gnostic ideas, diminishing Christ's role.

- Not created, but pre-eminent over creation (Revelation 1:5, Psalm 89:27).
- Emphasizes Christ's authority and priority.

CHRIST'S DEITY
1.CREATOR: All things were created by Him (John 1:3, Colossians 1:16).

SERMON:The Invitation of Christ
TEXT:Revelation 3:20

"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me." - Revelation 3:20

CONTEXT
This verse is part of a message to the church in Laodicea, a city in modern-day Turkey. The church was lukewarm in their faith, and Jesus was urging them to repent and return to Him.

THE PICTURE
Jesus is standing at the door, knocking. This image shows:

1. GOD'S INITIATIVE : Jesus is taking the first step, seeking a relationship with us.
2. THE DOOR: Represents our heart, a personal and intimate space.
3. THE INVITATION : Jesus wants to enter and fellowship with us.

THE RESPONSE
We have a choice:

1. HEAR HIS VOICE: Recognize Jesus' call.
2. OPEN THE DOOR: Repent, surrender, and invite Him in.
3. FELLOWSHIP: Jesus promises to dine with us, symbolizing deep communion and relationship.

APPLICATION

1. EXAMINE YOUR HEART: Are you lukewarm in your faith?
2. RESPOND TO HIS CALL: Open your heart to Jesus.
3. EXPERIENCE FELLOWSHIP: Enjoy a deeper relationship with Christ.

PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Jesus' invitation to come to Him. Help us examine our hearts and surrender to His call. Open our doors to Your presence, and let us fellowship with You deeply. In Jesus' name, Amen.

SERMON: "Renewal in Waiting"
TEXT: Isaiah 40:31

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

CONTEXT:
- Isaiah 40 comforts Israel in exile, promising restoration.
- Verse 31 contrasts human weakness with God's strength.

KEY POINTS:
1. Hope in the Lord (v31a):
- Hope"(qavah) = trust, wait expectantly.
- Trusting God renews strength (Romans 5:3-4, Psalm 130:5).

2. RENEW STRENGTH:
-Renew" (haliph) = exchange, like changing clothes.
- God exchanges weakness for strength (2 Corinthians 12:9-10).

3. SOAR, RUN, WALK:
- SOAR= moments of elevation (visions, breakthroughs).
- RUN = active seasons (ministry, goals).
- WALK = steadiness in trials (daily faithfulness).

4. NOT GROW WEARY, NOT FAINT:
- God’s strength sustains (Philippians 4:13, Psalm 121:3-4).

APPLICATION:
- Waiting on God? Your strength is renewed in hope.
- Tired? Focus on God’s presence, not your pace.
- Trust God’s timing; He renews strength in waiting.

PRAYER:
Lord, help me hope in You when seasons delay. Renew my strength to soar, run, and walk with You. Give me endurance and trust in Your timing. Guide me to focus on Your presence, not my weakness.
Prayer point:Ask God to reveal areas He wants you to trust Him in waiting or weakness.

Sermon: The Fruit of the Spirit - Living a Life that Reflects God
TEXT: Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

In Galatians 5, Paul contrasts living by the flesh (Gal 5:19-21) with living by the Spirit. When we walk in the Spirit, He produces fruit - qualities that reflect God's character in us.

The Fruit of the Spirit:

1. LOVE: Selfless care for others (1 John 4:8)
2. JOY: Deep, inner happiness rooted in God (Psalm 16:11)
3. PEACE: Trusting God's control (Isaiah 26:3)
4. PATIENCE: Enduring with people & situations (Eph 4:2)
5. KINDNESS/GOODNESS: Showing God's love & generosity (Luke 6:35-36)
6. FAITHFULNESS: Loyalty & trustworthiness (1 Cor 1:9)
7. GENTLENESS: Humble, approachable, sensitive (2 Tim 2:24)
8. SELF-CONTROL: Disciplined living for God's glory (1 Cor 9:24-27)

APPLICATION:

- We don't manufacture this fruit; the Spirit produces it as we walk with God (Gal 5:25).
- These qualities oppose the law's condemnation - we live by Spirit, not rules (Gal 5:23).

PRAYER:

Lord, thank You for the Spirit's work in us. Help us walk in Your Spirit daily, producing fruit that honors You. Fill us with love, joy, peace... Give us self-control to live for You.

Prayer for today: "Father, show me areas where I need more of Your Spirit's fruit. Help me reflect Jesus in my relationships.

Happy Sunday.

The Perfect Sacrifice
TEXT: Hebrews 7:27 (NIV)

Unlike the other high priests, he [Jesus] does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He did this once for all when he offered himself.
Beloved, today we dive into the majesty of Jesus Christ, our High Priest and Perfect Sacrifice. The book of Hebrews unpacks the superiority of Jesus over the Levitical priesthood, and chapter 7 highlights the ultimate fulfillment of the Old Testament sacrifices.

I. THE IMPERFECT VS. THE PERFECT PRIEST
- Old Testament priests were imperfect, sinful men (Hebrews 7:23, 27a)
- They needed to offer sacrifices for their own sins, then for the people's (Leviticus 16:6, 11)
- Jesus, the Son of God, is sinless (Hebrews 4:15, 1 Peter 2:22)
- He didn't need to sacrifice for Himself; He offered Himself for us (Hebrews 10:5-7)

II. THE ONCE-FOR-ALL SACRIFICE
- He did this once for all(Hebrews 7:27b, 9:12, 10:10)
- Jesus' sacrifice is complete, sufficient, and effective (Romans 5:8-9, Ephesians 1:7)
- No more need for repeated sacrifices (Hebrews 10:14)

III. THE SUPERIORITY OF JESUS' SACRIFICE
- Jesus' sacrifice is superior in its efficacy (it cleanses us completely)
- It's superior in its permanence (it doesn't need repeating)
- It's superior in its scope (it covers all sins, for all people, for all time)

IMPLICATIONS FOR US

1. Approach God's throne with confidence (Hebrews 4:16)
2. Live in gratitude and obedience (Romans 12:1-2)
3. Share the Good News of this perfect sacrifice (Matthew 28:19-20)

PRAYER

Gracious Father, we thank You for sending Jesus, the Perfect High Priest, who offered Himself for our sins once for all. Help us grasp the magnitude of His love and sacrifice. Give us boldness to approach You, and transform us to live lives that honor You. In Jesus' name, Amen 🙏.

TEXT : Matthew 4:1-11

Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil... And Jesus said to him, 'Away with you, Satan!' (Matthew 4:1, 10)
CONTEXT:
Jesus, after being baptized, is led into the wilderness by the Spirit to be tempted by the devil. This passage shows Jesus' preparation for His ministry and how He resists Satan's temptations.
I. THE THREE TEMPTATIONS:
1.Turn stones into bread(Matthew 4:3-4)
-Context: Jesus is hungry after 40 days of fasting.Temptation: Question God's provision ("If you are the Son of God...").
-Response: Jesus quotes Deuteronomy 8:3, emphasizing reliance on God's word.
2.Test God's protection(Matthew 4:5-7)
- Context: The devil quotes Psalm 91:11-12.
- Temptation: Presumptuous trust in God's protection.
- Response: Jesus cites Deuteronomy 6:16, warning against testing God.

3. Worship the devil for power(Matthew 4:8-10)
- Context: The devil offers worldly kingdoms.
- Temptation: Shortcut to power and glory.
- Response: Jesus quotes Deuteronomy 6:13, affirming worship of God alone.
II. Lessons for Us
- Jesus shows us how to resist temptation: Using Scripture and trusting God's plan.
- God's provision is sufficient: Jesus' fasting shows reliance on God.
- Obedience to God is key: Jesus' example contrasts Adam's failure (Romans 5:12-19).
III. APPLICATION
- How do we face temptations like Jesus?
- Do we trust God's provision in hard times?
- Are we willing to obey God above all else?
PRAYERS 🙏
1.Lord, help us resist temptation like Jesus, trusting in your Word.
2.Father, strengthen us in times of testing, that we may rely on you.
3.Jesus, give us courage to obey you above all, trusting your plan is best.
