PC SIMBOCK-MENDONG: “When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven… and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:1-4

Today, the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon joined millions of believers worldwide in celebrating Pentecost Sunday, the day the Holy Spirit was poured out and the Church was born.

The sermon was delivered by Rev. Mrs. Etaka Elsie, who focused on two key aspects:
Pentecost as the birth of a new community in Christ, and
the empowering of the Church for mission and witness.

Drawn from John 14:23-27, she expounded on the theme for the day: “The Holy Spirit dwells within us.”

As we worship, we are called to open our hearts afresh for a renewed filling of the Holy Spirit, pray for boldness to witness in our homes, schools, and communities, to surrender every fear, dryness, and limitation, declaring the Spirit of the Living God, to fall afresh on us this day and forevermore.

May the fire of Pentecost renew our faith and strengthen us to be faithful witnesses in our generation.

...Preaching from 1 Corinthians 9:24-27, Rev. Miki Hans, Moderator of the PCC, challenged CEPCA and its churches to embrace disciplined and intentional Christian living.

He stressed that unity in diversity only works when each church runs the race with purpose, exercises self-control, and keeps its focus on the eternal mission.

With this meditation, the ball is set rolling for Day 5 of the 57th CEPCA General Assembly activities.
