Why is it that Anglophone elites don't offer end of year scholarships as is the case in the West Region?

To think that this gentleman Mr Wele Evaristus lost his life because he chose to be different and not follow the crowd in search of buzz is just so painful.

While others were busy snapping with their cell phones in order to post on social media and obtain views, likes and followers while lives were perishing before their own eyes, this gentleman decided to save a woman and her child drowning in the fast and furious runoff. He decided to save lives rather than advertise how lives are being perished and that is how he lost his own life in the very sad Mile 2 Nkwen bridge collapse. He decided to save the lives of someone's wife and daughter helplessly perishing in the flood but ended up losing his own life and making his own wife a widow.

Such a dynamic gentleman, graduate 🎓 of the University of Bamenda, social entrepreneur, full of activity and ambition even amidst the sociopolitical instability in his native North West. He believed in building the nation with his modest contribution from his home town Bamenda, but infrastructural deficiencies failed him. The truth is that Bamenda is very densely populated and deserves good and robust infrastructural facilities for the mobility of persons and goods not makeshift structures constructed hastily at the eve of events and in a haste.

In 2005, the General Census of Cameroon indicated that Bamenda was the 3rd largest city in Cameroon in terms of population. That was an indication that the town needed both infrastructure, social amenities and jobs for the Youths who form a greater chunk of the population. Events unfolding today are indicative of the fact that those the said population Census figures were not taken into consideration, reason why the population pressure on the land is far more than the dilapidated structures can bear.

I have never met you, but the story behind your demise pains me to my soul. Rest in Peace Sir! May the good LORD reserve you a wonderful place at HIS bosom!

The Civil Rights leader and clergy the Rev Jesse Louis Jackson Sr has died peacefully surrounded by family members this Tuesday February morning in his home in the US aged 84. He is known to have stood firmly besides the late Rev Dr Martin Luther King Jr working together to push for voting rights, negotiating with world leaders, and pushing for corporate diversity.

Just like the Rev Dr Martin Luther King Jr, his great grand father was an Irish plantation owner who r***d his great grand mother, hence just like MLK, they have White ancestry but considered themselves as blacks and were treated as such.

One indelible picture that has been engraved in my memory is the tears of joy he shed the day Barack Obama won the election of the POTUS in 2008.

Rest in peace Freedom Fighter! Extend greetings to your struggle parter Rev Dr Martin Luther King Jr.

HOW OBAMA DEMYSTIFIED THE WHITE HOUSE, HOW PETE SOUZA CAPTURE AND IMMORTALIZED THEM!

For a couple of days and weeks now, the internet has been streaming amazing images of souvenirs about the amazing moments Barack and Michelle Obama spent at the White House while they officiated as the First Black American couple and family. Rare and captivating moments captured by then White House Photojournalist Pete Souza, who as well served president Ronald Reagan immortalized how humaine President Obama was, how much he loved kids, played with them even in the oval office, considered the most important decision making space in the world.
Obama would make faces with them, sleep on the floor in suits, just to play with them, run around with the kids in the oval office, explain some of the common functions on his desk to the kids and make them believe they could occupy those roles tomorrow if they worked hard to win the trust of Americans.

Obama didn’t only receive kids accompanied by their parents or guardians but as well visited them in their schools and ceremonies. All these moments, Pete Souza did cover them with an unmatched smartness and dexterity. In fact it is often said amongst White House staff that each time Souza Pete showed up, then the whole room adjusted because it was certain, the President was around and would show up in a matter of seconds. Pete jealously kept these moments immortalized and he is now sharing them and people are beginning to see the human being behind the Chief Executive Officer!

Obama kept indelible memories in the hearts of these American kids and no one can tell for how long those images would speak of him. In this life, it is often said, and rightly so that what matters most is not what you did for yourself but that which you did for others. Some of these kids are still in their early teens, and time shall come, when in their early twenties, late twenties and thirties shall begin to surface and tell their stories in their tens and hundreds of how a selfless American president in the days of their childhood choose to demystify the oval office to inspire not only the younger generations, but as well to make them feel they belong and their dreams too are valid! From them shall come diplomats, Senators, Judges, Congressmen, governors, Presidents, Generals in the US Army, Engineers and who shall one day rise up and thank their parents for taking that initiative of taking them to the White House where the smiling face and open arms of the 44th American President, a certain Barack Obama were wide open to receive them and take their dreams a little higher than they could ever have thought or imagined!

Thank you President Obama for your daily open day policy to kids, making them dream big, just as you did.

Thank you Pete Souza for immortalizing these rare moments in the lives of these kids.

It’s such a lesson, a treasure, allowing kids dream big!!!
