Text: Jeremiah 7:5-7
For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour; If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt:Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever.

Message:
In going astray and committing wickedness before the Lord, Judah, Jeremiah says, "walked after other gods to their own hurt. " False religions, fake philosophies, and erroneous ideas about God all tend to hurt the one holding to them. Not only do they offend God and bring judgment, but they wreak havoc in the lives of those following such false beliefs.

Prayer:
O Fountain of Living Waters, you are the source of all our true joy and the only legitimate object of our worship. How can we leave you? for where would we go? who else has the Words of eternal life? Your Word gives life through your Spirit, and all the idols of the nations do nothing but ensnare men in the carefully planted traps of Satan. Help us amend our ways and learn to both know you and love you more. Amen.

Text: Ephesians 6:24
Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.

Message:
It is easy to say we love Jesus Christ, but our love must be sincere not simply a word we repeat. Words that we utter as an overflow of what is in our heart are genuine, but it is possible to speak with our lips what our hearts do not truly believe. Life will put our love of Christ to the test and find out if it be genuine or not.

Prayer:
O lover of my soul, may my love to you in return be found genuine. Help us all in sincere love to you to live out each moment and each day. We know that if we love you, we will obey you. Help us obey you from the heart. Amen.

Text: Ephesians 6:13
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Message:
Satan, whose very name means "adversary, " will surely make his attacks on us. There will be a day when we are tested and must withstand "the wiles of the Devil. " We should always be preparing for that day, always be ready to stand our ground and not retreat one inch from the truth.

Prayer:
With your armor on, Lord, we can stand fast against the assaults of the enemy of our souls. Make us brave, skilled, and well equipped soldiers of Truth, and by your grace lead us to do great exploits for your glory. In Jesus' precious name. Amen.

Text: Matthew 6:1
Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.

Message:
Our Heavenly Father sees not only our outward acts of giving to the poor and needy or any charity, but he also sees our motives and the manner in which we give. If we give to be seen of men and honored by men, that is our only "reward" and we have no reason to expect a reward from God.

Prayer:
O Lord, let us never give to your ministry for the purpose of looking good in the eyes of others. Let us seek not honor from men but seek that honor that comes from God only. When we honor you by obeying you, you honor us by approving of our deeds and saying to us, at last, "Well done you good and faithful servant! " That is our highest reward. In Jesus precious name. Amen

Text: 2 Corinthians 5:21
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Message:
We see here a metaphor, a form of figurative expression used to emphasize a point: that Jesus became "sin. " More literally, he became a "sin offering. " But a sin offering was that on which the guilt of the sins of others was symbolically placed. In Jesus' case, our guilt was literally placed on him when he came as the Lamb of God to take away the sin of the world.

Prayer:
Dear dying Lamb, you took the guilt of our sins on yourself and you were treated by the Father as if guilty yourself for our sins. He turned away his face and you bore God's wrath against sin as if you had been sin itself, when you hung on Calvary's tree. May we never forget that great sacrifice you made for us. may we never forget the gift of your perfect righteousness. Amen.

Text: Ecclesiastes 5:10
He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.

Message:
No one knew more than King Solomon, one of the richest men to ever live, how impossible it is for silver, gold, and all the things money can buy to satisfy one's soul. It is the very things that many cannot buy and that only God can give that are the most precious, most satisfying gifts of all.

Prayer:
Lord, you are the giver of true riches that money could never buy. Only you can give peace, joy, love, faith, and all of the fruits of the Spirit. And when we give up worldly possessions and comforts for the sake of advancing your Kingdom, we know you will reward us, either in this life or in the next. Help us to value the true and eternal riches more highly than the passing and deceitful riches of earth. In Jesus precious name. Amen

Text: Malachi 2:16
For the LORD, the God of Israel, saith that he hateth putting away: for one covereth violence with his garment, saith the LORD of hosts: therefore take heed to your spirit, that ye deal not treacherously.

Message:
In years gone by, divorce was extremely rare; but today, in many countries, over half of all marriages end in divorce. "Putting away" here is a reference to divorce, and God says that he hates it. Divorcing one's wife or husband is a breaking of a solemn promise made not only to one's spouse but also to God, and before many witnesses. A land where the family is destroyed, lying in shambles, is a land in social and spiritual turmoil.

Prayer:
We pray, Lord, that you will intervene and save marriages from ruin. Let not man tear apart what God has brought together. We pray also for those who are already divorced and not in a position to undo the damage done. Forgive, heal, and lead them in their lives from this day forward, whatever may have happened in the past. In Jesus' precious name, Amen.

Text: Jonah 2:1-2
Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly,And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.

Message:
Jonah cried out to God from the belly of the whale. What a place for a prayer meeting! This should teach us that there is not place on earth where we cannot or should not pray to God. There is no situation we can be in where he will be unable to hear us and deliver us. Note that the Hebrew for "hell" can also be rendered "grave" in many cases. It was as if Jonah was dead and gone and the fish's belly was his tomb, but God heard him and brought him back.

Prayer:
O God, it is always better to follow you than to run from your will. But even if, like Jonah, I am in great trouble due to my wanderings, I know that you will hear the cry of the truly penitent heart. We are all often in need of undeserved deliverance. I am a "debtor to mercy alone. " In Jesus precious name. Amen

Text: Ruth 1:16
And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:

Message:
Ruth had every reason, humanly speaking, to leave her mother in law Naomi as her sister Orpah had just done, but she would not do it. Why? It was because of more than mere social and emotional attachment, and it certainly was not for any financial gain. In fact, she faced the possibility of being a social outcast in Israel and of remaining unmarried for life, wheras she could easily find a new husband in Moab. But Ruth would not go back to the old gods and old ways of her past. She steadfastly clung to the Lord Jehovah, having been converted to Him in her heart.

Prayer:
O Lord my father, Ruth was a virtuous woman (in the Hebrew, a "woman of strength"). She was willing to endure hardship and face an uncertain future in this life for the sake of taking care of her mother in law who had shown kindness to her and to be true to her God. May we learn from her good example and not let trying circumstances cause us to cease to follow you, Lord. In Jesus' precious name, Amen.

Text: Hebrews 1:3
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

Message:
How peculiar the phrase "purged our sins" would seem in this list of attributes and actions of Christ would seem if we were not so used to the idea! He who possesses and reveals perfectly the nature of God the Father, who created the world by his mere command, and who sits even now ruling over the universe at his Father's side, "by himself purged our sins. " He who was higher than the heavens stooped to bear the sins of his people to the cruel cross of Calvary, there to purge them all away in the flow of his precious blood!

Prayer:
O risen Savior, who once bore the wrath of God in my place on Calvary's tree, you are exalted far above all and yet are lowly of heart and full of compassion. You combine in one Person perfect humanity and perfect divinity. In you, love and truth unite in perfect harmony; in you, majesty and humility embrace and hold sweet communion. May we see in you all of this glory, and may the sight of it transform us and excite in us a spirit of true worship and reverence. Amen.

Text: 1 Peter 2:12
Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

Message:
There are people amongst you who think you are wrong for believing in Jesus Christ – they may even accuse you of doing evil. Yet, as believers, we have the ability to change their opinions to glorify God when he returns by the lives we lead. How? By living such a good life filled with the love and teachings of Jesus that they may see we are different. We can do good deeds in the name of Jesus showing even those who doubt our faith that Jesus is real and has made a difference in the way we live our daily lives – we serve, we love, and we extend mercy.

Prayer:
Dear God, help me to live a life that is so radically different from those who do not know you that even they will glorify your name when you return. Give me opportunities to share your love with others and to serve wholeheartedly the people you have placed in my life. Allow me to extend mercy to those around me. Thank you for giving us a reason to love others, Father. Help my life to bring glory to your name, O Lord. In Jesus' name, amen.

Text: 1 Timothy 1:12
And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry

Message:
God has called us each to minister in some way. What is your calling? Some people struggle with trying to decipher their calling. Begin by considering the talents and gifts God has bestowed to you. God gave you these unique talents for a reason – to serve him! While we will not all be called to preach from a pulpit, we are all called to serve him faithfully. This may mean volunteering with vacation Bible school or ministering in the nursery or helping teach others how to be good stewards of their finances. No matter what your gifts are, allow God to use them to bring him glory.

Prayer:
Dear God, I want to live my life serving you and ministering to others, but there are some days when I am unsure how to do it. Give me wisdom to know which unique gifts you have given me and an understanding for how I can use them to minister. Give me the confidence and strength I need to serve. Whenever I am ministering, help me to do it unto you and not for my own glory. May your name and works be glorified through my ministry. Thank you for believing I am worthy to share your message with others. In Jesus' name, amen.
