Text: *2 Cor. 3:7-18*
Topic: *The surpassing and The Unveiled Glory of The New Covenant*
The glory of the new covenant surpasses that of the old covenant.
Not as though the old covenant did not have glory, but that the glory of the new covenant surpasses or is greater. We are therefore a privileged people.
*Three arguments Paul brings*
1. _The old covenant ministry is that of death and the new covenant ministry is that of the spirit._
The glory that was on the face of Moses that caused the Israelites to be afraid to look at him was glory that was going to come to an end.
The ministry of the Spirit is that of life. We are a privileged people because we are in the ministry that gives us life.
_2. The old covenant ministry was of condemnation while the new covenant ministry is that of righteousness_ *(v.9)*
The ministry of righteousness is the ministry that makes sinners right with God because God made Him who knew no sin to become sin so that we might be saved. That's why the ministry of the new covenant surpasses that of the old.
That old covenant ministry is now obsolete.
3. _The old covenant ministry is a temporary ministry while the new covenant ministry is permanent_ (v. 11).
The old covenant ministry was simply pointing to something greater and Jesus has accomplished it.
That's the unveiled glory in the face of Jesus Christ. It surpasses the glory that was seen on the face of Moses
This glory is not only surpassing, it is unveiled, it has been Unveiled to us. The glory on Moses' face was covered. Moses could only remove the veil in the presence of Yahweh, because sinners couldn't see the glory on Moses' face and survive. Not so with the glory of the new covenant ministry.
