Beloved in the Lord, welcome to the month of November which is the month of Divine Mercy. We thank God for how far He has bought us. Most specifically, we thank God for His faithfulness and kindness that has kept us to this moment.
Mercy is “compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone whom it is within one’s power to punish or harm”. This meaning is deep. It means that God shows forgiveness to someone that can be punished without any stress. This makes me wonder how many times we have personally done something offensive towards God and man and though, He has the power to punish us, still forgive us. That is mercy!!! It means we are not deserving of being discharged and acquitted but His mercy wipes the slate clean and makes us innocent again to enjoy even more mercy.
In some many places in the Scriptures, we are informed of how God’s mercies endure forever, how He is plenteous and rich in mercy. Lamentation 3:22-23 makes it crystal clear that it is only by the mercies of God and his compassion that we made it this far. It is interesting that the Bible assures us that the mercy never fails.
You must understand that God chose to be merciful unto us. It is not by our strength or intent but by God’s choice. Does that not make you feel special? God made a personal decision to be merciful unto you. The Bible further says that the mercies of God are new every morning. Simply saying, every day, you and I have a new kind of favor, compassion and kindness to enjoy from God. It means daily we get breakthroughs, answers, miracles and blessings that are beyond our human
capacity. We could not have pulled it through even if we wanted to. God did it. Hallelujah!!!
I pray that as we draw near to the end of the year, God’s mercy will keep you and speak for you in Jesus name.
Have a wonderful month full of divine mercies.
