See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.
But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called "Today," so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.
We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original conviction firmly to the very end.
As has just been said: "Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion."
-Hebrews 3 : 12-15
Title: Today and Everyday, I Recommit Myself to you
Inspiration 🕊😊💒
Every day is another day to reaffirm our faith. Every day is a "today" for us to avoid the temptations that would lead us into sin. Every day is another chance to help others who might be led into sin and to affirm them in their faith. It is normal and natural that we will have doubts. In fact, if we have never doubted, how do we know that we believe? It is by looking at our doubts and remembering why it is that we believe, that our faith is confirmed and strengthened. Every day it is also important to reach out to help the poor and the vulnerable. It doesn't matter how we reach out, just that we do. Each day we need to forgive and not harden our hearts to those who have hurt us in the past. We can't pick and choose who is worthy of help, or who deserves to be forgiven. Jesus doesn't ask us to make those decisions; that's his job. Have you ever been guilty of sin, have I? Did Jesus say that you or I are guilty so won't be forgiven? No, we are all forgiven; we are all saved by the actions of Jesus. If we have been saved when we were still sinners, then we have an obligation to forgive others and to help anyone who needs it. We do have a tendency to blame people for the trouble that they get into! And sometimes we think that they should get themselves out of it, even when we don't have all the facts and they are perfectly innocent. Haven't we been falsely accused at times? Let us not harden our hearts but open them to others in love.
PRAYER 🙏
Loving and forgiving God, help us to have hearts open to your children and give us a willingness to help and forgive without judgment. Amen.
