TRUE SHEPHERDS LEAD PEOPLE TO CHRIST, NOT TO THEMSELVES

True shepherds do not seek personal glory or build kingdoms around themselves; they lead people closer to Jesus Christ. Their mission is to reveal Christ, not to replace Him in the hearts of people.

Jesus said:
“And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.”— John 12:32

A genuine shepherd points people to the Cross, teaches them God’s Word, and helps them grow in personal relationship with Christ. Like John the Baptist, every true servant of God must say:
“He must increase, but I must decrease.”— John 3:30

A shepherd who points people to himself creates followers of man, but a shepherd who points people to Christ raises true disciples.

“True shepherds are signposts pointing men to Jesus.”

“A real man of God leads people into dependence on Christ, not dependence on himself.”

A road sign is never the destination; it only points the way. In the same way, true shepherds exist to direct people to Christ, who is the only Savior and Shepherd of souls.
