Topic: From Death to Life, From Darkness to Light — He Has Risen
Main Texts:
John 5:24
Colossians 1:13
Matthew 28:6
Introduction
Beloved brothers and sisters, this morning we stand in the power and glory of the resurrection. Today is not just another Sunday—it is the day that changed history forever.
The grave could not hold Him. Death could not stop Him. Darkness could not overcome Him.
The angel declared in Matthew 28:6,
“He is not here, for He has risen!”
This is the foundation of our faith. If Christ did not rise, our faith would be empty. But because He lives, we live also!
Today, I bring you a message titled:
“From Death to Life, From Darkness to Light — He Has Risen.”
1. FROM DEATH TO LIFE
Before Christ, humanity was in a state of spiritual death.
The Bible says in John 5:24,
“He that hears my word and believes… has passed from death unto life.”
Death here is not just physical—it is separation from God.
Sin brought death
Disobedience brought separation
Humanity lost its connection with God
Every man outside Christ is walking, but spiritually dead.
But the good news is this:
Jesus came to restore life!
When Jesus died, He took our place. When He rose, He gave us His life.
Now:
Where there was death, there is life
Where there was hopelessness, there is hope
Where there was condemnation, there is salvation
Illustration:
Just like a dry seed buried in the ground seems dead, but when life touches it, it springs forth—so it is with anyone in Christ.
Application:
You must receive this life
You must believe in Jesus
You must walk in this new identity
Tell someone: “I have passed from death to life!”
2. FROM DARKNESS TO LIGHT
Darkness represents sin, ignorance, fear, bo***ge, and confusion.
Many people today are living in darkness:
They don’t know God
They are trapped in sin
They are bound by fear and oppression
But the Bible says in Colossians 1:13,
“He has delivered us from the power of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son.”
