*CHARACTERISTICS NEEDED FOR THE ANOINTING TO ABIDE*
Every believer is anointed.
However, to function effectively in the Anointing, you must first have a clear revelation of it and understand how to stir it up within you.
The Anointing does not operate automatically; there are divine principles that govern its manifestation.
The anointed men of old—David, Samuel, Daniel, Joseph, and even our Lord Jesus—demonstrated specific characteristics that sustained the Anointing upon their lives.
God does not merely desire that you be anointed; He desires that you develop the character necessary for that Anointing to manifest and remain.
*Ezekiel 1:5–10, Rev 4:6–8*
The four living creatures symbolically reflect the four Gospels:
Matthew presents Jesus as the Lion.
Mark portrays Him as the Servant.
Luke reveals Him as the Son of Man.
John presents Him as the Son of God, without genealogy, because God has no genealogy.
Each creature expresses a dimension of Jesus Christ. In the same way, they reflect the characteristics of a truly anointed man or woman of God.
These beings operate in higher authority—beyond the twenty-four elders and distinct even from angels.
If you desire to walk in the fullness of the Anointing, you must cultivate the following characteristics:
*1. Submission to Those Ahead of You*
True Anointing flows through submission.
Elisha submitted himself to Elijah and served him faithfully.
Peter, despite differences in age, served Jesus.
In service, your will is refined and sometimes crushed. You may be instructed to do things beyond your preference, but it is in that process that character is formed.
Even in business, success requires learning submission -character development.
*1 Samuel 16:13*
David was anointed king, yet he learned submission in Saul’s house. Though anointed, he served.
God designed the Anointing to flow from one generation to another, but where there is no submission, there can be no transmission.
*Numbers 27:18–23*
Moses laid hands on Joshua and imparted wisdom to him.
Joshua was chosen because he was submissive.
The elders were not as submissive as Joshua.
Likewise, the centurion in Scripture was in authority because he himself was first under authority.
*2. Boldness to Stand on the Word*
An anointed believer must be bold enough to declare and stand firmly on God’s Word.
In *Luke 4:18,* Jesus boldly proclaimed the Scripture concerning Himself.
*1 Samuel 17:34–37*
David recounted his past victories over the lion and the bear before confronting Goliath; he stood on testimony.
Stand on the testimonies of the word!
Stand on the testimonies of others!
Use testimonies as weapons of warfare! Make war with the Word of God!
*3. The Spirit of Servitude*
Every truly anointed believer must carry the spirit of a servant.
*1 Samuel 18:5*
David went wherever Saul sent him. He obeyed diligently.
Because of his faithful service, Saul appointed him leader over the men of war.
The four living creatures possess great authority because they continually serve before God’s throne.
*Romans 1:1*
Paul introduced himself first as a servant before calling himself an apostle. He understood that authority flows from servitude.
Only those who embrace service will consistently operate in the Anointing.
*4. Waiting for God’s Timing*
Genuine Anointing requires patience.
When David was anointed king, Saul was still on the throne. David was anointed but without an office.
*1 Samuel 27:1*
David fled to the land of the Philistines while waiting for God’s timing.
King Saul was dethroned only at God's appointed time.
David had to remain patient.
Joseph waited seventeen years before becoming governor.
To grow in the Anointing, you must learn to be patient.
*5. A Teachable Spirit*
*2 Samuel 12:1–16*
When David sinned and was confronted by the prophet Nathan, he did not resist correction.
He acknowledged his sin, fasted, and sought God’s forgiveness.
A truly anointed person is teachable.
An unteachable spirit is the manifestation of pride.
*James 4:7*
We are called to submit to God.
*6. Walk in Love*
Above all, you must walk in love for the Anointing to abide.
If the Anointing rests upon a person without the proper character, it can destroy them.
Character sustains the Anointing.
Examine yourself. In whichever area you are lacking, ask the Lord to cleanse and strengthen you.
*MAY THE LORD BLESS YOU*
