*WINNING BY FOCUSING ON JESUS*
*Hebrews 12:2 (KJV)Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.*

Wisdom demands that you learn from those who have gone ahead of you. More importantly, wisdom requires that you follow the example of those who went your way with remarkable victory. Great success on the journey to eternity belongs to those who have taken a keen interest in studying the lives, the ways, and the strategies of those who have gone ahead with the goal of applying them. The experience of others in their struggles in a similar endeavor is a massive treasure for those who want to have an incredible triumph in that domain.
Apostle Paul admonishes us to learn from the examples of those who have gone ahead of us. For those who succeeded you find out their secrets and for those who who fail, you avoid their pitfalls.
*1 Corinthians 10:6,11 (KJV)Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.*
*Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.*
*WHY SHOULD YOU FOCUS ON JESUS*
1.*He is the author and the finisher of our faith.* Our faith and our journey to eternity is built on the Lord Jesus. He is a perfect teacher. He teaches by example. He does not only tell you how to live the Christian life; He is a living example.
2. *Jesus focused on the Joy that was set before him.*
The Lord Jesus focused on the Joy that was waiting for him in the presence of his father. He kept aside every distraction until he crossed the finishing line. To win the race we must focus on the Joy that is ahead of us. Remove your eyes from things that easily entangle and move on with courage until you finish well.
3. *Jesus endure the cross*
The Lord Jesus endure the distress of the cross. He suffered and died the death of the cross; a shameful death. This is because he knew that the death was temporal. We have our individual crosses to carry. The cross of shame, the cross of humiliation and embarrassment we must endure it this we reach the end.
4. *The Lord Jesus is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.*
There is a place you must not miss as you journey through life. This is the presence of God. The Lord Jesus fought the battle and conquered the flesh and the reward is his place at the right hand of the throne of God. If we focus on him and follow his example we will not miss this eternal joy.

Focus on Jesus
1. Lord Jesus thank you for being a model for me.
2. Lord Jesus help me to focus on you as I walk this pilgrim journey
3. Lord give me the grace to carry my cross daily
4. Lord anoint me to overcome all the temptations of the enemy
5. Lord give me the grace to run and to finish well.
