The Christian Community of higher and lower Manda drawn from the Catholic and Presbyterian churches have converged to end the week of prayer for christian unity. The come together in an ecumenical service took place on Monday January 26, 2026 at PC Manda, bringing together a multitude of Christians and most especially those drawn from different church groups.
The week observed under the theme "Unity in Diversity" wrapped up with an educative sermon delivered by Reverend Father Beltus Asanji, the Rector of Our Lady of Mercy Quasi Parish, Manda. In his exotic homily, he buttressed on the importance of unity amongst Presbyterian and Catholic Christians which is hinged on their shared christian history and heritage.
The unity of these two denominations he enlightened Christians is rooted in identical beliefs and cultures from Baptism, ways of worship through prayer and action groups. The key church groups he earmarked for collaborative unity in their activities being the Christian Women and Men Fellowship groups of the Presbyterian church, and the Catholic Men and Women Associations of the Catholic church.
In response to the sermon, the Parish Pastor of PC Manda Congregation Rev. Pastor Godwin Wiysenyuy acclaimed the message as a well researched homily, rich in content and context to better situate the Christians on the historical and biblical background of the two congregations which have across the years remained steadfast and undiluted. He used the homily to develop a slogan for the Christians to henceforth use in greetings, identical only to the community. Christians departed with the salutation slogan "Manda Christian Community", "Together for Christ".
