*May 24, 2026 | The Complex Manipur Crisis*

The ethnic conflict in Manipur is no longer just between the Kuki and Meitei communities. In recent months, violent clashes have broken out between Kuki and Tangkhul Naga hill tribe communities. Other hill tribe communities also appear to be drawn into the conflict, but the level of involvement differs from tribe to tribe. Deep historical disputes over land ownership, resources, quotas, political influence and the drug trade continue to fuel this conflict. While the valley-dwelling Meitei community is largely Hindu, many hill tribes are predominantly Christian.

- Pray for dialogue to be chosen over violence.

- Pray for Christians to serve as peacemakers.

- Pray for talks that lead to peace, reconciliation, and mutually acceptable compromises.
