*TEXT: PSALM 9:20*
*TOPIC: WE ARE MERE MORTALS*

_[20] Strike them with terror, Lord; let the nations know they are only mortal._

👉. David closes Psalm 9 with a sobering prayer. It is not merely a prayer for fear, but for awakening so that people would recognize their limits before the sovereign God. Pride forgets human weakness, and emptiness but reverence to God remembers it. Injustice and all kinds of wickedness shows the person does not recognise his or her emptiness as humans so prays for....

👉. Awakening Through Reverence “Strike them with terror, Lord” (v.20a). David asks God to shake the proud into awareness. Sometimes God uses sobering moments to awaken hearts to truth.

👉. A Prayer for Recognition “Let the nations know” (v.20b). David desires the nations to come to right understanding. One of humanity’s greatest needs is to recognize who God is and who we are before Him.

👉. The Humility of Human Frailty (Weakness). “They are only mortal” (v.20c). Human beings are powerful only in appearance; before God we are dependent and limited. Humility begins when we remember our frailty and God’s supremacy.

👉. Psalm 9 ends by calling proud humanity back to humility. It reminds us that wisdom begins when we recognize our dependence on God. The nations must know, and we must remember that we are mortal, but the Lord reigns forever. Lord, keep me humble before You. Teach me to remember my dependence on You and to live in reverence before Your eternal majesty. See us through in Jesus Christ's Name, Amen. GOD BLESS, SHALOM. ```Pst. W. Mathew```

*TEXT: PSALM 9:19*
*TOPIC: ARISE OH LORD*

_[19] Arise, Lord, do not let mortals triumph; let the nations be judged in your presence._

👉. As Psalm 9 nears its close, David turns again to urgent prayer. After praising God’s justice, he calls on God to act visibly. It is a cry for God to rise and prevent human pride and wickedness from seeming victorious. Telling God to arise shows....

👉. A Cry for Divine Intervention “Arise, Lord” (v.19a). David calls on God to rise and act. In times when evil seems strong, prayer calls upon God’s power, not human strength. Pray and seek God's divine intervention always.

👉. Human Power Is Limited “Do not let mortals triumph” (v.19b). David refers to people as mortals, emphasizing their frailty before God. No earthly power can stand above God. Human pride is temporary.

👉. Justice Before God “Let the nations be judged in your presence” (v.19c). David desires that all people be brought before God’s righteous judgment. True justice is found in God’s presence, where nothing is hidden. Know that there is nothing hidden from God, watch your life.

👉. In times of need and at everytime, Psalm 9:19 reminds us to pray for God’s rule to be made evident when evil seems to prevail. It teaches us to trust not in human power, but in the God who rises to judge righteously. Arise, Lord, and let Your justice be seen. Keep me trusting in Your rule when human power seems overwhelming. See us through in Jesus Christ's Name, Amen. GOD BLESS, SHALOM. ```Pst. W. Mathew```

*TEXT: PSALM 9:16-18*
*TOPIC: THE JUSTICE OF GOD (2)*

_[16] The Lord is known by his acts of justice; the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands. [17] The wicked go down to the realm of the dead, all the nations that forget God. [18] But God will never forget the needy; the hope of the afflicted will never perish._

👉. These verses present God's justice and here we see a striking contrast bringing about the fate of the wicked and the hope of the afflicted. David shows that while those who forget God face judgment, those who suffer and wait on Him are never forgotten.

👉. God's Justice Brings An End to Godless Living “The Lord is known by his acts of justice; the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands. [17] The wicked go down to the realm of the dead,” (v.16,17a). David warns of the end of those who reject God. A life lived apart from God leads ultimately to loss and judgment.

👉. God's Justice Brings The Danger of Forgetting God. “The wicked go down to the realm of the dead, all the nations that forget God.” (v.17). To forget God is to live as though He does not matter. Spiritual forgetfulness leads to moral and eternal danger.

👉. God's Justice Brings Divine Remembrance “But God will never forget the needy” (v.18a). In contrast to those who forget God, God never forgets the needy. Even when people overlook the weak, God remembers them.

👉. God's Justice Brings Enduring Hope “The hope of the afflicted will never perish” (v.18b). The suffering of the righteous is not the end of their story. Hope anchored in God survives hardship and will not be disappointed.

👉. Beloved, God's Word to us today reminds us that God’s justice includes both judgment and mercy. He opposes those who reject Him, but He remembers the needy and preserves the hope of the afflicted. Lord, keep my heart from forgetting You. Strengthen my hope in seasons of affliction, and help me trust that You never forget Your people. See us through in Jesus Christ's Name, Amen. GOD BLESS, SHALOM. ```Pst. W. Mathew```

*TEXT: PSALM 9:16*
*TOPIC: THE JUSTICE OF GOD*

_[16] The Lord is known by his acts of justice; the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands._

👉. Building on the previous verse, David now makes the truth explicit regarding God's justice, what happens to the wicked reveals who God is. God’s justice is not hidden; it is seen in how He deals with wrongdoing. Because of God's justice....

👉. He is Revealed Through Justice “The Lord is known by his acts of justice” (v.15a). God makes Himself known through the way He judges and sets things right. God’s character is revealed in His actions. His justice shows His righteousness to the world.

👉. The Wicked Are Held Down By Theu6 Wickedness. "the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands." (v.15b). The wicked become trapped in their own schemes. Their downfall comes from what they themselves have done. Sin does not only harm others, it eventually traps the one who practices it. We are responsible for our actions, and they carry consequences.

👉. Psalm 9:16 reminds us that God’s justice is certain and visible. The way He deals with evil reveals His righteous nature. This encourages us to walk in integrity and trust His judgment. Lord, let my life reflect Your righteousness. Help me walk in truth and trust in Your perfect justice. Lord see us through in Jesus Christ's Name, Amen. GOD BLESS, SHALOM. ```Pst. W. Mathew```

*TEXT: PSALM 9:15*
*TOPIC: CAUGHT IN THEIR OWN TRAP*

_[15] The nations have fallen into the pit they have dug; their feet are caught in the net they have hidden._

👉. David now reflects on a recurring truth in Scripture: the plans of the wicked often turn back on themselves. What was intended to harm others becomes the cause of their own downfall. This reveals both the wisdom and justice of God. When you are a child of God you need to live in confidence because the Lord is the one that fights our battles..

👉. The Wicked Experience Self-Inflicted Consequences “The nations have fallen into the pit they have dug” (v.15a). The wicked dig traps for others but end up falling into them. Sin often carries its own consequences. What we plan for others can return to us, and what others also plan for us can return to them we just need to wholeheartedly depend on Yahweh.

👉. Hidden Schemes Exposed “their feet are caught in the net they have hidden” (v.15b). The traps of the wicked were hidden, but they could not escape them. Nothing is truly hidden from God. He brings hidden actions into the light for His glory and for the sake of His children.

👉. Always know that God’s Justice is at Work. Even when God is not directly mentioned in this verse, His justice is evident in the outcome. God governs situations in ways that ensure justice is done. So Psalm 9:15 reminds us that evil is ultimately self-defeating. While it may appear successful for a time, it cannot escape God’s justice. The safest path is always righteousness. Lord, keep me from every evil way. Help me walk in integrity, trusting that Your justice will always prevail. Also deliver me from every evil trap, God see us through in Jesus Christ's Name, Amen. GOD BLESS, SHALOM. ```Pst. W. Mathew```

*TOPIC: FROM CRY TO PRAISE*

_[13] Lord, see how my enemies persecute me! Have mercy and lift me up from the gates of death, [14] that I may declare your praises in the gates of Daughter Zion, and there rejoice in your salvation._

👉. After declaring that God remembers the afflicted, David now turns personal again. He moves from truth about God to a direct cry for mercy. Yet even in his plea, he looks ahead with confidence to praise. This shows a powerful demonstration of faith; crying out while expecting to rejoice. What can cause is move from cry to praise?

👉. A Honest Appeal “Lord, see how my enemies persecute me” (v.13a). David brings his situationp
plainly before God. We can speak honestly to God about our struggles and opposition knowing He hears us.

👉. Showing Complete Dependence on Grace. “Have mercy and lift me up” (v.13b). David asks not only to be seen, but to be lifted out of his distress. God’s mercy is what raises us from low places to higher heights.

👉. Be Aware of the Extreme Danger “From the gates of death” (v.13c). David describes his situation as life-threatening. No situation is too severe for God’s intervention. You are not being aware of the situation to be afraid but rather to approach God with boldness and faith.

👉. Understand the Purpose in Deliverance. “That I may declare your praises” (v.14a). David desires deliverance not just for relief, but to glorify God. God’s help in our lives should lead to testimony and praise.

👉. Be Ready to Joy After Rescue “Rejoice in your salvation” (v.14b). David anticipates rejoicing even before the answer comes. Faith looks forward to joy because it trusts in God’s saving power.

👉. No matter your situation, you can move from crying to praising. Psalm 9:13–14 teaches us to cry out honestly while holding onto hope. God lifts us not only to rescue us, but so that our lives can become testimonies of His goodness. Lord, see my struggles and have mercy on me. Lift me up, and let my life be filled with praise for Your salvation. See us through in Jesus Christ's Name, Amen. GOD BLESS, SHALOM. ```Pst. W. Mathew```

*TEXT: PSALM 9:12*
*TOPIC: CRY UP TO THE LORD*

_[12] For he who avenges blood remembers; he does not ignore the cries of the afflicted._

👉. After calling others to proclaim God’s works, David now highlights one powerful truth: God does not forget. In a world where suffering is often overlooked, this verse assures us that God sees, remembers, and acts when we cry up to Him. Why cry up to the Lord??

👉. God Does Not Forget Injustice “He who avenges blood remembers” (v.12a). God is aware of every wrong and every act of violence. Even when justice seems delayed, God has not forgotten. He keeps account of all things.

👉. Because of God’s Attentiveness “He does not ignore” (v.12b). God is not indifferent to human suffering. No cry, no pain, and no injustice goes unnoticed by God.

👉. God’s Heart for the Broken “The cries of the afflicted” (v.12c). The afflicted are those who are oppressed, hurting, or in need. God is especially attentive to those who are suffering and calls us to trust Him in our pain.

👉. Always cry up to the Lord beloved. Psalm 9:12 reminds us that God is both just and compassionate. He remembers every cry and will respond in His perfect time. When we feel unheard or overlooked, we can be assured that God is listening. Lord, thank You for seeing and hearing every cry. Help me trust that You remember my struggles and will act in Your perfect time. Lord see us through in Jesus Christ's Name, Amen. GOD BLESS, SHALOM. ```Pst. W. Mathew```

*TOPIC: DECLARE HIS (GOD'S) DEEDS*

_[11] Sing the praises of the Lord, enthroned in Zion; proclaim among the nations what he has done._

👉. Having affirmed God as a refuge and faithful protector, David now calls others to respond, he calls people to the worship of God in praises. Worship is not meant to remain private, it is to be shared. This verse invites us to both praise God and make His works known. Declaring God's deeds imply

👉. A Call to Worship “Sing the praises of the Lord” (v.11a). David encourages active, joyful praise. Worship should be expressed, not hidden. It is a natural response to God’s goodness.

👉. Know God Reigns Among His People “Enthroned in Zion” (v.11b). Zion represents God’s dwelling and rule. God is not distant, He reigns and is present with His people.

👉. We Should Have A Global Testimony “Proclaim among the nations” (v.11c). David calls for God’s works to be declared beyond Israel. What God has done in our lives should be shared so others can know Him.

👉. We Should Always Be Remembering His Works “What he has done” (v.11d). The focus is on God’s actions: His faithfulness, justice, and deliverance. Testimony strengthens faith, both in ourselves and in others.

👉. Have you been declaring God's deeds? Psalm 9:11 reminds us that praise is both personal and public. We are called not only to worship God but to proclaim His deeds so that others may know His greatness and can join us in worshiping Yahweh the True Living God. Lord, fill my heart with praise and boldness. Help me declare Your goodness and share what You have done in my life. See us through in Jesus Christ's Name, Amen. GOD BLESS, SHALOM. ```Pst. W. *TOPIC: A REFUGE IN TIMES OF TROUBLE*

_[9] The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. [10] Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you._

👉. After declaring God as the eternal righteous King, David now brings it closer to personal experience. This great God is not distant, He is a refuge for those in trouble. These verses reveal both God’s protection and His faithfulness to those who seek Him. Being the refuge imply

---👉. God Is A Safe Place “The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed” (v.9a). David describes God as a refuge, a place of safety for those who are suffering or mistreated. No matter how difficult life becomes, God is a place we can run to for protection and safety.

👉. The Source of Stability in Crisis “A stronghold in times of trouble” (v.9b). A stronghold is a secure and fortified place. God provides stability when everything around us feels uncertain.

👉. Your Relationship With God Build Trust “Those who know your name trust in you” (v.10a). Knowing God’s name means understanding His character and nature. The more we know God, the more we are able to trust Him.

👉. Know God’s Faithfulness “You, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you” (v.10b). David affirms that God does not abandon those who turn to Him. Seeking God is never in vain, He is always faithful to those who pursue Him.

He is a refuge for the hurting, a stronghold in trouble, and a faithful God who never abandons His people, just trust and depend on Him. Lord, You are my refuge and stronghold. Help me trust in You and seek You always, knowing that You will never forsake me. God see us through in Jesus Christ's Name, Amen. GOD BLESS, SHALOM. ```Pst. W. Mathew```

*TOPIC: GOD THE ETERNAL RIGHTEOUS KING*

_[7] The Lord reigns forever; he has established his throne for judgment. [8] He rules the world in righteousness and judges the peoples with equity._

*TEXT: PSALM 9:4-6*
*TOPIC: GOD THE RIGHTEOUS JUDGE*

_[4] For you have upheld my right and my cause, sitting enthroned as the righteous judge. [5] You have rebuked the nations and destroyed the wicked; you have blotted out their name for ever and ever. [6] Endless ruin has overtaken my enemies, you have uprooted their cities; even the memory of them has perished._

👉. In these verses the psalmist David is reflecting on why he can rejoice, God has acted on his behalf. These verses shift from praise to the reason behind it: God’s justice. David sees clearly that his victories are not by chance, but by God’s righteous judgment. Because of His righteous judgement...

👉. God Defends the Righteous “You have upheld my right and my cause” (v.4a). We see David acknowledging the fact that God has stood on his behalf. When we walk in truth, God Himself becomes our defender.

👉. The Righteous Experience God’s Perfect Authority “You have sat on your throne, judging righteously” (v.4b). God is pictured as a King seated on His throne, ruling with justice. God’s judgments are fair and perfect, He sees what humans cannot.

👉. God Opposes Evil “You have rebuked the nations and destroyed the wicked; you have blotted out their name for ever and ever” (v.5). David recognizes that God actively confronts wickedness. Evil may seem strong, but God has the final word over it, no evil is unrecognised or will go unpunished.

👉. The End of the Wicked “Endless ruin has overtaken my enemies, you have uprooted their cities; even the memory of them has perished” (v.6). The destruction of the enemies is complete and lasting. Wickedness does not endure; only what is aligned with God lasts.

👉. God is the Righteous Judge and nothing is hidden from Him. Psalm 9:4–6 reminds us that our joy in God is rooted in His justice. He sees every situation, defends what is right, and brings an end to evil in His time. Will you end in ruin or in celebration? Righteous God, thank You for defending me and judging rightly. Help me trust in Your justice, even when I do not fully understand. See us through in Jesus Christ's Name, Amen. GOD BLESS, SHALOM. ```Pst. W. Mathew```
