OUR DAILY BREAD 🍞🥭🍏🍎🍓🍇🌽
THE MONTH OF FORGIVENESS
DAY 24
THE BETRAYAL OF FORGIVENESS
Scripture: Psalm 41:9 "Even my close friend, someone I trusted, one who shared my bread, has turned against me.
Biblical forgiveness after betrayal involves releasing the desire for revenge, prioritizing personal healing over reconciliation, and trusting God to handle justice, even when the hurt is profound. It is a command, not an option, intended to free the victim from bitterness rather than excuse the sin.
KEY ASPECTS AND SCRIPTURES
1.*Forgiveness is a Command:* We are instructed to forgive, just as Christ forgave us (Colossians 3:13). Forgiveness frees us from the stranglehold of bitterness.
2.*Letting Go of Vengeance:* The Bible instructs against seeking revenge for betrayal, trusting that God will bring justice (Romans 12:19).
3.*Forgiveness Does Not Mean Reconciliation:* Forgiveness is a mandate, but rebuilding trust and restoring a relationship requires repentance from the offender.
4.*The Example of Jesus:* Even while betrayed and on the cross, Jesus forgave those who wronged him (Luke 23:34).
5.*The Risk of Unforgiveness:* Matthew 6:14-15 warns that if we do not forgive others, our own sins are not forgiven.
SCRIPTURES ON HANDLING BETRAYAL
1.*Psalm 41:9 (NIV):* "Even my close friend, someone I trusted, one who shared my bread, has turned against me." (Validating the pain of betrayal).
2.*Psalm 55:12-14 (ESV):* Focuses on the betrayal of a close friend, highlighting the personal nature of the pain.
3.*Romans 12:19 (NIV):* "Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: 'It is mine to avenge; I will repay,' says the Lord".
4.*Colossians 3:13 (NKJV):* "...forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do".
5.*Matthew 6:15 (AMP):* "But if you do not forgive others [nurturing your hurt and anger...], then your Father will not forgive your trespasses".
*MOVING FORWARD*
1.*Acknowledge the Pain:* It is safe to take your hurt to God (Psalm 55:22).
2.*Set Boundaries:* While forgiving, you can still maintain wisdom, as not everyone is entitled to close access to your life.
3.*Focus on Healing:* Shift focus from the betrayer to God’s strength (Psalm 73:26).
4.After forgiveness, maintain a wifi relationship because some people may just be pretending that they have forgiven you, so a Bluetooth relationship is advisable until you are sure that the other party has truly repented.
_I decree and declare that by this understanding you are free from any betrayal in the mighty name of Jesus._
