WRITE-UP 1
THE PURPOSE OF DRESSING IN SCRIPTURE

Before discussing styles of dressing, we must first ask: Why did clothing appear in the Bible?

When God created Adam and Eve, they were naked and “not ashamed” (Genesis 2:25). But after sin entered the world, shame and self-consciousness appeared, and they suddenly felt the need for covering (Genesis 3:7).

Later, God Himself made garments for them (Genesis 3:21).

This shows us that clothing became connected with: • modesty, • dignity, • covering, • and human fallen nature.

From Scripture, dressing therefore serves important purposes:
1. To cover nakedness.
2. To preserve modesty and decency.
3. To reflect dignity and self-respect.
4. To maintain proper identity and order.
5. To express wisdom and godliness.
However, we must also understand this carefully: The Bible never teaches that outward appearance alone determines spirituality.

A person may dress religiously outwardly while the heart remains far from God. Jesus warned about this in Mark 7:6.

True holiness therefore involves BOTH:
- inward transformation,
- and outward modesty.

As this series continues, we shall carefully examine what biblical modesty truly means and how Christians can uphold holiness without misunderstanding Scripture or becoming judgmental.

Holiness is not merely outward appearance — but it should also influence outward conduct.

COMING SOON: A BIBLICAL CONVERSATION ON CHRISTIAN DRESSING AND TRUE HOLINESS

In our generation, the subject of Christian dressing has become one of the most discussed, debated, and sometimes misunderstood aspects of the Christian faith.

Questions continue to arise: What truly defines modesty? What does the Bible really teach about dressing? Where is the line between holiness, culture, tradition, and personal conviction? Is Christianity mainly about outward appearance, or is there something deeper God is looking for?

Sadly, many believers have become more judgmental than understanding, while others have completely ignored the place of modesty and godly conduct altogether.

As believers, we must be willing to return sincerely to the Scriptures — not merely to defend opinions, traditions, or emotions, but to understand the heart of God concerning holiness, modesty, dignity, and Christian character.

In the coming days, I will be sharing a thoughtful biblical series on: “Christian Dressing, Modesty, and True Holiness.”

This will not be a platform for criticism, attacks, or unnecessary controversy. Rather, it will be an honest and balanced study of Scripture aimed at promoting spiritual maturity, wisdom, and deeper understanding.

My prayer is that through this series, we will learn to uphold holiness with grace, embrace truth with humility, and reflect Christ not only in our appearance, but also in our hearts, attitudes, and conduct.

I invite you to journey with me prayerfully and thoughtfully.

May truth lead us closer to Christ.

Stay tuned for the first write up before or by evening.

Joy Is a Choice

“Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I will say, Rejoice.” — Philippians 4:4

Joy is not the denial of pain.
It is not pretending the storm is not raging.
It is not the absence of tears, pressure, or unanswered questions.

Joy is a decision.

A decision to lift your eyes when life tries to bow your head.
A decision to trust when circumstances argue otherwise.
A decision to anchor your heart in God, not in happenings.

Paul wrote those words not from a palace, but from a prison. Not surrounded by comfort, but by chains. Yet he says, “Rejoice… and again I say, Rejoice.”

Why? Because joy is not rooted in comfort — it is rooted in Christ.

Hardships may knock at your door.
Challenges may sit at your table.
Delays may test your patience.

But today, you can still choose joy.

Choose to praise in the pressure.
Choose to smile through the strain.
Choose to believe that God is still working, even when you cannot see it.

Joy is not automatic — it is intentional.
It is a daily, sometimes hourly, choice.

So today, in the middle of whatever you are facing, make the boldest decision of all:

Choose joy.

Not because everything is perfect.
But because God is present.

As for me, I choose Joy.
