*THEME: THE HEART CRY OF GOD*
Why did God make man?
*Gen 1:26*
Man was not made for just dominion, man was made in the image of God to live in His image.
God made man in His image for intimacy.
*Gen 2:18-23*
God did not want man to be alone and so made Eve in the same image as Adam so that man could have intimacy with Eve.
Notice that the animals did not suffice because they were not made in the same image as Adam.
Thus God created man in His image because He did not want to be alone.
When man was created in God's image, he gained the ability to have dominion because he had become one with God.
When Adam sinner, he lost this intimacy and so His authority; his priesthood was taken away.
God's heart cry from the very beginning is to have a family with whom He can fellowship.
God chose through Moses, a people, so he could teach the nations how to worship Him.
That was why He called the children of Israel out of Egypt. He wanted them to have intimacy with Him. He wanted to restore the priesthood that Adam lost

This plan failed because the children of Israel did not want it.
*Ex 20:19*
But there was a man who understood this. Thatan was David. David wanted intimacy with God. He understood God's heart cry.

From this place of intimacy, David had dominion. When the Lion and bear came, he killed them.

Then Christ came with the new covenant.
The new covenant gives you eternal life. This eternal life is that life that allows you to have intimacy with God.
It is only from intimacy that you can bear the fruit of the Spirit.

Apostle Paul understood the heart cry of God that is why he said in *Phil 3:10-11*
*Philippians 3:10 KJVAAE*
*[10] that I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; ...*
*Jn 15:1-7*
Jesus continues to emphasize on the importance of fellowship and intimacy.
Many are in church, in Christ but they have no fellowship with Christ.
Many Christians struggle to bear fruit because they do not abide with Him.
They make resolutions and decisions to do things by their own strength. They fail because true fruit is only born in the place of intimacy.
Your fellowship should not be easily broken.
The secret of fruitfulness is intimacy.

*[5] I am the vine, ye are the branches. He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit; for without me ye can do nothing.*
When you begin to spend time with God, the life of God on the inside will begin to guide you in everything.
A man who has intimacy is a dangerous man, even his thoughts are answered.
*John 15:7 KJVAAE*
*[7] If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.*
As you practice intimacy, habits will fall off, the desire for sinful habits will fall off.
