Traditionally, we once again reflect upon our endeavors this year. This year marks the first year following the schism of the Helvetic Underground Committee and the inaugural year under the banner of „Jünger Tumilon“. Those who believed that with the separation and the name change tranquility would descend upon us were bitterly disappointed: We have released three albums this year: ARKHAAIK's "UIHTIS," ARROWS' "Yearning Arrows; Cloven Suns," and the so far digital-only re-release of Lykhaeon's „Tanz der Entleibten.“ The two new albums stand as milestones in the evolution of the Disciples of Tumilon. The album by ARKHAAIK signifies the completion of a labor of many years and has achieved a new level of satisfaction in terms of mixing and songwriting. ARROWS' debut represented a creative breakthrough, coinciding with the establishment of a new live project that has since performed two gigs. The significance of the LYKHAEON release can be read about in our last post. KVELGEYST has desecrated the stage with a handful of live performances this year, too.
With the inundation of the internet by "AI-Slop," the DIY approach of our circle has assumed an even greater importance for us. Thus, it is no wonder that two of the three releases this year feature hand-painted covers (i.e., painted by band members). The struggle against the creative atrophy of man remains our foremost priority in the coming year. The third D.V.T. album is set to be released in 2026, and two further beasts of albums are currently being finalized, before they too are unleashed upon mankind, hopefully next year. More on this at a later time.
In our personal lives, the Disciples of Tumilon are also diligently creating: Both of us, Darvish and Menetekel, have become fathers this year (and no, we did not collaborate on this for once). The fact that a significant portion of our leisure time is now spent changing diapers will undoubtedly have an impact on the quantity of our musical output in the long run. Nevertheless, quantity has never been the goal, but rather the creation of genuine, high-quality works of art.
Stumble on, Jünger Tumilon!
