LWF congratulates Rev. Dr. Imad Haddad on his election as the next bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land (ELCJHL).

"We rejoice with our member church during this moment of transition and new leadership. Bishop-Elect Haddad brings wisdom and a pastoral heart to guide the ELCJHL in its vital ministry in the Holy Land. We pray for God's abundant blessings upon him as he prepares to serve," said Rev. Dr. Rospita Siahaan, LWF Regional Secretary for Asia.

Rev. Dr. Haddad will be installed on 11 January 2026. He succeeds Bishop Dr. Sani Ibrahim Azar, who has led the church since 2018.

The ELCJHL has congregations in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and Jordan. The church runs four schools, and has an active diaconal program, as well as work with women and youth.
