Here's a wonderful testimony from Rody de Guzman, a member of our ward here in Geneva. We add our testimonies of the power of the Christ's sacrifice, and the promise of the resurrection.🕊️
"We have been made aware of the passing away of friends, spouses and family members of friends as well as others we have come to know and have been taken away from our presence by this insidious phenomenon we refer to as the Covid 19 pandemic.
"Indeed, some of us have lost our own loved ones. Nonetheless there is reason to be hopeful by way of our faith in the Lord, our Savior and Redeemer, even Jesus Christ. He has said: 'These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.' (John 16:33)
"In this connection, I would like to share with you a talk by Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin, who served in the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of our Church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. (There are those who refer to us as 'Mormons'). He has since passed away after delivering this talk, which he gave not long after his own wife passed away. It is entitled 'Sunday Will Come'. May I suggest that you watch the video of Elder Wirthlin's talk; please click on Sunday Will Come (https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/general-conference/2006/10/sunday-will-come?lang=eng). You can also read the text of his talk given also in this link.
"I hope that it will be a source of comfort for those who mourn the loss of a loved one; and that each one of us will be willing to mourn with those who mourn; and comfort those who stand in need of comfort. And that we can 'succor the weak, lift up the hands which hang down, and strengthen the feeble knees.'
"May the Holy Spirit, the Great Comforter, be with us all at this time. An important message in this talk, and that I wish to share with you, is that Families Are Forever. When our time on this earth is done, we can return to our loving Heavenly Father and can be reunited as families. That is, we will recognize the family ties we have, as husband and wife, as children and parents and as brothers and sisters, among others.
"I know this to be true; for the Holy Spirit has whispered it to me in His soft small voice, that it is so. I also tend to believe that Friends are Forever."
Because of the life and eternal sacrifice of the Savior of the world, we will be reunited with those we have cherished.
