Praise His Name!

Praise the God I serve and may He get all the GLORY for this post!

Look I am standing/walking WITOUT any kind of assistance! As of yesterday my physical therapy team told me that I no longer need to walk with assistance. No more wheelchair and no more walker!!!!!!!!

4 month ago I came into this rehabilitation center not able to get myself out of bed, I could not walk, had to use a wheelchair, had to use a walker, fell multiple times and even cracked a few ribs from falling. I had no strength in my lower body. I ended up with Covid and pneumonia and in the hospitals on a vent for a week or so. I was a MESS!!!

I reluctantly checked into Continental Manor in Blanchester and began my journey to get back to a place to where I could walk again.

The staff has been amazing and they have taken GREAT care of me. They have pushed me on days when all I wanted to do was stay in bed. They have worked closely with me everyday to get me back on my feet.

I am thankful for the staff and this facility.

I started back on Chemo a few weeks ago and will have it every 3 weeks as maintenance treatment indefinitely. The Chemo was very rough on me and I was very sick. I had to get fluids a few times and really had a rough week or so.

I go Tuesday for treatment again. Please pray with us that the side effects are not as bad this time around.

I will be staying at the rehab facility. They can give me fluid and keep an eye on me. I want to be home so bad but staying here is the right move for myself and my family at this time. Maybe soon!

As far as an update on the cancer - it is still there but as of my last scan it was shrinking! Praise His name!!!

I know a lot of you have messaged me for an update on Ken. September 3 he had brain surgery, came home, has fallen 4 times which resulted in a black eye, broken ribs and bruises all over, he has short term memory loss and went to rehab to gain strength and finished radiation. During rehab, he contracted Covid which turned into pneumonia. He was taken by ambulance on Thursday to the hospital and admitted. He went septic, had a UTI, his lungs and body filled with fluid and was put on a ventilator early Saturday morning. We thought we were going to lose him, but God! He was extubated this morning and is doing well. Everything is headed in the right direction. Since the chemo he was on no longer works due to brain mets and he is so weak he no longer can receive chemo or trials unless he gets stronger. We would appreciate your prayers for Ken and our family! It’s been a crazy 2 months!

We could use your prayers once again….
The last couple of weeks have been difficult. Last Saturday morning, Ken fell and has a black eye and then on Wednesday afternoon, Ken fell at the hospital after an MRI and broke two ribs. He is just so weak. Ken is currently in the hospital for aggressive physical therapy and pain management for his ribs. He will have radiation for the remaining tumors and they believe the tumors will not come back and then continue chemo. I currently have a cold and cannot be with him at the hospital. I am at home resting. My mom and dad have been amazing in supporting us and bearing through this trial with us! I know God is with us and HE has a plan for all of this but we are weary from the last month. God has shown me that HE is faithful and trustworthy! Please lift our family in prayer!

Ken is HOME!!!!! He was able to come home this evening and is sleeping soundly in bed! Please pray for the days ahead and the upcoming radiation treatments. He has 34 staples on the left side of his head so please pray for healing and comfort there as well. A smooth recovery!

Another praise report….they were able to remove the entire tumor! Please keep praying!! We have radiation to go and new chemo/immunotherapy. We appreciate you all!

Praise report….Ken is doing well! He has speech, can move his arms and legs, he can see, he can read, he has sat in a chair and drank a Pepsi! He is a miracle! God is so so good to our family! If all goes well he will be out of ICU tomorrow. Keep those prayers coming!!!!!

Ken is in recovery. He had a seizure during surgery so we will not know the extent of it until he wakes up. Please keep praying!
