Title: "Mr Dust, Don't Forget Who You Are"
Text: Genesis 3:19
Psalm 103:15-16
Genesis 3:19
"In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken; for dust you are, and to dust you shall return."
Psalm 103:15-16
"As for man, his days are like grass; He flourishes like a flower of the field; The wind passes over it, and it is gone, And its place remembers it no more."
Men, we're like Dust – temporary, fragile, and often distracted. Genesis 3:19 says, "Dust you are, and to dust you will return." But in chasing earthly things – wealth, status, possessions – we forget who we are.
The Distraction of Earthly Things
- Men often focus on accumulating wealth, forgetting our true purpose (Matthew 6:19-20, Luke 12:15).
We get caught in the pursuit, thinking it defines us (Proverbs 28:22, Ecclesiastes 5:10).
But wealth and material things won't go with us when our time ends (Psalm 49:10-12, 1 Timothy 6:7).
Where Will You Go with It?
• Death is certain, judgment is coming (Hebrews 9:27, 2 Corinthians 5:10).
• What use is wealth when facing eternity? (Luke 12:20-21).
God asks, "What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world but loses his soul?" (Matthew 16:26).
Men, Remember Who You Are
1. You’re Dust, Bound for Eternity: Don’t let earthly things define you (Psalm 103:15-16).
2. Prioritize the Kingdom: Seek God’s kingdom above all (Matthew 6:33, Luke 12:31).
3. Invest Wisely: Use your resources for God’s glory (1 Timothy 6:17-19, Matthew 25:31-46).
Men, you’re not just "Mr. Dust" – you’re called for greatness in God’s kingdom.
Prayer Points:
1. Focus on Eternity: Lord, help me prioritize Your kingdom (Matthew 6:33).
2. Stewardship: Guide me to use my resources for Your glory (1 Timothy 6:17-19).
3. Purpose: Help me live for You, not for earthly gain (Colossians 3:1-2).
*Closing Prayer:*
"Father, help us, men, remember our purpose – to know You and live for Your kingdom. In Jesus' name, Amen."
