LIVING A PURPOSEFUL LIFE (6)

We bless the Name of the Lord for the great grace to learn His Word. It is very important for us to understand that the journey of purpose can only be fulfilled when we yield to the leadership of the Spirit of God. The role of the Holy Spirit in purpose cannot be overemphasized, He is the Leader who shows us the path to fulfill purpose and guides us so we do not fall away. He knows the path to purpose more than anyone else, whether He leads through the valley of the shadow of death or the wilderness, He knows that the outcome will be purposeful.

Throughout the Scriptures, it has never been found that the Spirit of God led anyone amiss. He is the surest guide any man can have. Jesus speaking about Him, said:
"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you." — John 14:26 NKJV
The Holy Spirit is a Teacher, the One who knows and teaches all things. He has the ability to guide men accurately. If we allow the Holy Spirit to take the Lead, we can be assured that we will not miss it in purpose.

Jesus also calls the Holy Spirit, the 'Helper'. There is a reason He is called the 'Helper'. Only Him has the ability to help us live the purposeful life through His guidance. Purpose is not as difficult as many people think it is. Purpose is a beautiful journey. Truly, it comes with different phases but with the help of the Holy Spirit, it is not beyond what we can go through and become refined. In order for Gideon to fulfil purpose, he also needed to experience the help of the Holy Spirit.
"But the Spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon; then he blew the trumpet, and the Abiezrites gathered behind him." — Judges 6:34 NKJV

A man that will fulfil purpose must come into the reality of the ministry of the Holy Spirit, otherwise this man will be trapped in the system of trial and error. One beautiful thing about the Lord is that He will not call man to fulfil a specific purpose and then leave him helpless. For every call to purpose, there is a divine provision. This provision is first found in the ministry of the Holy Spirit, as He opens our eyes to see the possiblities within the journey of purpose that God has called us into. Finding purpose without the Holy Spirit is like going on a journey to a specific destination with a car that has no fuel. It will be impossible to arrive at that divine destination.

Purpose is a spiritual journey and only the Spirit of God can help us walk through it graciously. A man who refuses to embrace the minsitry of the Holy Spirit will end up circling in one spot and with no fulfilment whatsoever.
"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God." — Romans 8:14 NKJV
Remember to submit to leadership of the Spirit of God.

Remain submissive.

LIVING A PURPOSEFUL LIFE (5)
Blessed be Jesus who is the Living Word of God. In the journey of purpose, two forces are at work: the help of God and the diligence of man. By the help of God, the angel was sent to Gideon in order to help him find his path in purpose but it also required his effort. Having received help to know what God had purposed for him, Gideon went ahead to play his part by being diligent as he acted according to the instructions given to him by God.
Now it came to pass the same night that the Lord said to him, “Take your father’s young bull, the second bull of seven years old, and tear down the altar of Baal that your father has, and cut down the wooden image that is beside it; and build an altar to the Lord your God on top of this rock in the proper arrangement, and take the second bull and offer a burnt sacrifice with the wood of the image which you shall cut down.” — Judges 6:25-26 NKJV

Instructions are vital in the journey of purpose and that is why a man on the quest to fulfil purpose must not act rashly but must be very intentional in fulfilling it.
In purpose, every instruction is a step forward so you cannot afford to miss a step lest you drift from the path of purpose. Purpose calls for intentionality and diligence, no man can fulfil purpose in laziness or indiscipline. No doubt, God will guide you but you must also be diligent enough to follow His guidance. The Shepherd is responsible for leading the sheep but the sheep is responsible for following the Shepherd. Following is not always easy but intentional diligence and discipline will keep you on track with the Shepherd and His will for your life. The Shepherd's major instrument in leading the sheep is instructions. He speaks to the sheep and in return, He expects the sheep to yield to His instructions

Gideon obeyed the voice of God concerning destroying the altar of Baal. That was the first instruction he received from God and it was a proof that he could be trusted with the assignment given to him to deliver the children of Israel. Every time you yield to an instruction, you position yourself as one whom Heaven can trust with the mandate to do God's will on earth. King Saul was given an instruction to destroy Amalek but he did not fulfil it and that was how he got it wrong in purpose.
"Samuel also said to Saul, “The Lord sent me to anoint you king over His people, over Israel. Now therefore, heed the voice of the words of the Lord. Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘I will punish Amalek for what he did to Israel, how he ambushed him on the way when he came up from Egypt. Now go and attack Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and do not spare them. But kill both man and woman, infant and nursing child, ox and sheep, camel and donkey.’ ” —I Samuel 15:1-3 NKJV

One failed instruction can lead to failure in purpose. King Saul had been taking instructions for granted, it began when he decided to offer the sacrifice that prophet Samuel should have offered. A man begins to fail and fall on the path of purpose when he fails to be diligent in following every given instruction. Remember to diligently do as instructed.

Remain yielded.

LIVING A PURPOSEFUL LIFE (4)
We give God all the Glory for the grace to continually feed on His Word. In the journey of purpose, there are angels assigned to help the man involved in fulfilling his divine asssignment. These are often referred to as angels of destiny. Such angels are saddled with the responsibility of assisting a man even as he walks in alignment with God's plan but their help is experienced as the man aligns through obedience.

To walk with the angel of one's destiny, obedience is key. Gideon encountered the angel connected to his destiny while threshing wheat and his alignment began as he listened and responded to the message delivered to him.
"And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!” Gideon said to Him, “O my lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the Lord has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.” Then the Lord turned to him and said, “Go in this might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites. Have I not sent you?” So he said to Him, “O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.” — Judges 6:12-15 NKJV

The operation of the angel connected to destiny often propels a man into the actualization of God's mandate upon his life. Gideon could have missed his purpose if he had held unto to his excuse of "my clan is the weakest in Manasseh". Many times, these angels are proactive but their operations can be hindered when the man involved refuses to align through obedience. God sent this angel ahead of the Israelites,
"Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared. Beware of Him and obey His voice; do not provoke Him, for He will not pardon your transgressions; for My name is in Him. But if you indeed obey His voice and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries." — Exodus 23:20-22 NKJV

Following the instructions given by angel is what guarantees success in the journey of purpose. When Joseph yielded to the angel's instruction to take Mary as his wife, he later received another instruction to flee with the child by night after the visitation of the wise men (Matthew 1:20, 2:13). One thing about these angels is that when a man remains submissive in obedience, they continue guiding and helping him until he arrives at the place of manifestation.

In the pursuit of purpose, alignment with the angel assigned to your destiny is very important because such divine assistance helps to lead a man in the right path. Remember to obey the voice of God and the guidance He sends.

Remain aligned.

LIVING A PURPOSEFUL LIFE (3)

We give Glory to God for the privilege given to us to learn His Word. Today, the Lord wants us to understand that, 'Purpose is found in service'. You cannot find purpose in idleness. Purpose manifests in everything we do, in those little steps we intentionally take. That step to thresh wheat was an act of service; God saw the heart and sincerity with which Gideon did it and this placed him in alignment with God's purpose for his life.

As a man serves and lives for the Lord, God begins to work on him. The Scripture didn't tell us much about Gideon before he was found threshing wheat and had the encounter with the angel of the Lord but Gideon must have consistently shown up and given himself to labour in order to help his people. At this point, God didn't need to go searching elsewhere because Gideon had shown in his service that he was capable of doing what God would have him do. Puropose doesn't happen by accident, if any man will find purpose, such a man must learn to serve. Rahab, who was a harlot in Jericho found purpose through service in protecting the two spies that came from Israel and that was how she made it to the gynalogy of Jesus (Joahua 2:3-21, Matthew 1:5).

It is true the Bible didn't mention the name of the virgin that was going to give birth to the Messiah but one virgin aligned herself to fulfil that prophecy as she served and lived for the Lord. Yes, Mary found favour but she was also found in service through godliness. The life of purpose is unveiled even in each step a man takes on a daily basis. We walk towards purpose as the day goes by. All the while, David gave himself to taking care of his father's sheep and even risked his life to protect them from the lion and the bear, he was taking baby steps towards the ultimate vision of fulfilling his purpose as the future king of Israel. From the sheepfold, he had drawn lessons to lead men even in their worst state. How else was he able to lead a multitude of weak and distressed men in Adullam? "David therefore departed from there and escaped to the cave of Adullam. So when his brothers and all his father’s house heard it, they went down there to him. And everyone who was in distress, everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was discontented gathered to him. So he became captain over them. And there were about four hundred men with him." — I Samuel 22:1-2 NKJV

In purpose, every step matters. You must serve diligently and live for the Lord irrespective of the challenges you might be facing. Remember that each step is a walk towards purpose, be intentional.

Remain transformed.

LIVING A PURPOSEFUL LIFE (2)
Blessed be the Name of the Lord for His mercy that never runs out. As we started the new series last week, we learnt that purpose is found in God. Since God is the Creator, the purpose of His creation can only be defined and understood in Him. If a man comes into intimacy with the Lord, he will find purpose in Him. A man that is well positioned in the Lord cannot be lost in life. God is a Shepherd and He surely knows how to direct His sheep.

If the positioning is right, then purpose will be found. In a time when the children of Israel were plagued by the Midianites (Judges 6:1-5), a young man named Gideon was rightly positioned during that season. He was found threshing wheat in the winepress in order to hide it from the Midianites. The young man had no idea that he had a purpose to deliver his people from the burden of the Midianites, he was only trying to create a means of survival and sustenance for his people. But right there, purpose was revealed. God had already sent his angel and Gideon was found at the location and time of this divine visitation.

"Now the Angel of the Lord came and sat under the terebinth tree which was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon threshed wheat in the winepress, in order to hide it from the Midianites. And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!” — Judges 6:11-12 NKJV
He didn't miss the call to purpose because he was exactly where he should be. David's purpose was unveiled in the wilderness, his journey as a shepherd was the divine training for the call into purpose. When Samuel came, David was in the wilderness and when Samuel requested that they call for him, he was found exactly where they said he was. (1 Samuel 16: 11-12)

When it comes to the matter of purpose, you cannot afford to be misaligned. Learn to be positioned in the right places because it is at this point that purpose begins to unravel. As little as it may seem, doing the right things at the right time unlocks the door to purpose. Rebecca was found as at that time when women went to draw water, her right positioning gave her access to the call to purpose (Genesis 24:11- 20)
"And he made his camels kneel down outside the city by a well of water at evening time, the time when women go out to draw water."
— Genesis 24:11 NKJV

In purpose, location and time cannot be missed. You have to be perpetually inclined in order for purpose to be revealed. Remember to stay positioned.

Remain blessed!

LIVING A PURPOSEFUL LIFE (1)
As we launch a new series for the year 2026, we give all glory to God for His eternal support, His grace that strengthens us and His love that never fades over the Heart Thursday crew. We also celebrate everyone who has faithfully followed our Thursday devotionals since the journey began. Our new series is titled “LIVING A PURPOSEFUL LIFE.”

It is essential that every individual comes into a deep understanding of their existence on earth. Your presence on earth is no accident, it is God's intentional plan for you to live a fulfilled life.
Purpose is the essence of your creation. It is the reason you exist. Understand this: you are not empty. You carry a distinct expression capable of provoking a lifetime transformation in your generation. No one is created without purpose. Every single person is designed to fulfill a specific mandate.

God created man with intention. It was not a purposeless process but a divine one: that man may live to bring pleasure to his Creator. As the Scripture says:
“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”
— Revelation 4:11 KJV
Man's primary purpose is to live for the Lord, bringing joy to his Maker through daily living as a living sacrifice:
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” — Romans 12:1 NKJV
In essence, man cannot fulfill his purpose independent of God. We are designed in such a way that true satisfaction can only be found in living wholly for Him.

Those who are on a mission to live a purposeful life will not abandon God in search of purpose, because purpose is found in God alone. Only those led by the Spirit of God can truly discover it. Consider Joseph: his journey from slavery to prison may not have seemed purposeful at the time, yet God was guiding him all along so that his purpose could ultimately be fulfilled in the palace. Similarly, Gideon was found threshing wheat, unaware of God's mandate for him to deliver Israel from the Midianites. But when God found him, his purpose was revealed.

Remember this, "Purpose is found in God." May we all receive the grace to walk closely with Him, allowing Him to lead us to the destiny He has designed for each of us.

Let's do this 👇👇👇

Satan has no control over my mind
I renounce the lies of the enemy
I shut down whispers and operations of demons around me
I cast down every imagination and high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God in my life
I bring every thought to the obedience of Christ.
I shield my mind with the Word of God
I declare that I have overcome the world by my faith in Christ Jesus
I consistently choose holiness over filthiness
I deliberately engage in feeding and securing my heart with God's Word
I submit my mind to the Holy Spirit and allow Him control my thoughts and words.
In Jesus Name

Dear Beloved, the way to live holy is to yield to God.
Don't forget to speak the Word very loudly, don't respond to a thought with a thought and remember the best weapon to win the mind game is the Word. We trust God to help us all even as we partner with Him in this holy order He has given us.

'THE LIFE OF HOLINESS AFFIRMATIONS'

Glory to God, we are here at the end of the series "Life of Holiness", it feels like we shouldn't end it but there's an end to everything.
Today, let's declare these Words 👇👇👇 with authority

I have the mind of Christ
I think like Christ
I talk like Christ
I behave like Christ
Christ died to restore an holy order hence I live holy
I do not struggle to live holy
Holiness is in my DNA
I walk perpetually in holiness
I yield to the Spirit of holiness
I walk in the Spirit always
Holiness becomes my culture
Holiness is my lifestyle

I affirm that I have been given the grace to say NO to sin
I affirm that I live the life that pleases God - the life of holiness
I affirm that my heart is continually guarded by the Word of Truth hence my heart is preserved.
I affirm that I have been sealed with the Holy Spirit hence no space for carnality in me.
I affirm that Christ died for me and He has imparted the life and nature of righteousness into me
I affirm that I consistently walk in the victory that Christ has given me over sin, satan, the world and flesh.
I affirm that like Joseph, I see sin as great wickedness and my desire will always be to please the Lord.

I receive the wisdom to understand that holiness is my identity, not by my works but by Christ's sacrifice.
I receive the grace to walk in the reality of the Holy order that Christ has restored to humanity.
I receive the grace to live in freedom and no longer subjected to be a slave to sin or fear.
I choose holiness always, though people may claim it's old school, I will choose the ways of the Lord.
I choose to be holy in a corrupt community, I will stand for God and walk with God like Enoch.
I pass the holy order to my generation in the Name of Jesus (AMEN)

Beloved, the Scripture says, "Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord" (Hebrews 12:14 NLT) We must live holy in order to see the Lord. I pray that we are helped in Jesus Name.

Thank you for staying with us through this series.

We love you😍😍😍

THE LIFE OF HOLINESS (52)

Blessed be the Name of the Lord. It's been a wonderful time learning God's Word.

As we conclude the study on the 'Life of Holiness', we want to point out a few things:-

◾Holiness begins from the heart- You can't act holy if you do not have a holy heart.

◾Ensure you are louder than your thought- Most times the devil whispers his ideas, plans and evil desires through our thoughts. He tries to manipulate us to become like himself. He is aware that he is doomed and that hell awaits him(Matthew 25:41) but he tries to attack us via our minds with as many evil things as possible to have us end up like him.

◾He doesn't come physically, in some cases if you are not discerning, you might not know it is the devil, he doesn't present many thoughts in a evil way, he does it strategically that's why we need to weigh thoughts with the Word of God and shut down thoughts that are ungodly.
Devil plants seeds into man's life (Matthew 13:25) in most cases, man is not aware that there's an invasion of evil in his heart, it takes the Word of God to expose it, and also in spiritual gathering where the man of God addresses such matters by the Spirit that's why we shouldn't forsake the gathering of the brethren. When the devil plants a seed, he likes to isolate the person involved so he can water the seed and monitor it's growth until it becomes a stronghold that becomes almost too difficult to be destroyed.

◾The heart vaults must be consistently cleansed with the Word of God and you must make sure its contents are not contaminated. Store it with Words, affirmations, prayers, good books- keep things that are pure and holy in it.
"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things" (Philippians 4:8 KJV)

◾Do not entertain the devil's lies- the devil is used to lying and he can't repent. He will always be a liar, don't fall for his deception. That lie might even be something pleasing to your flesh because the devil also checks what is most likely to please you before bringing it your way. For example, he told Jesus to turn stone to bread, he knew Jesus was hungry and turning stones to bread would have been pleasing to His flesh, don't you think? But Jesus responded with the Word.
"And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God" ( Matthew 4:3-4 KJV)

Jesus knew food was good to satisfy His flesh but understood that succumbing to the devil would be terminating His prophetic destiny. Jesus said that the way for man to live or sustain himself isn't food but by the Word of God.

Beloved, only the Word of God (spiritual meal) can satisfy your appetite not the natural meal. The Word is for your spirit while the food is for your flesh. Crave for what satisfies the spirit rather than your flesh. 👉Remember, it is the spirit that quickens, the flesh profits nothing.

God bless!

"THE LIFE OF HOLINESS" (52)

Glory to God forever.
As we draw near to the end of this particular series, we
would be learning how to 'guard our hearts with all diligence'.
What does it mean to guard one's heart?
This means to prevent one's heart from getting contaminated or defiled in order to live in a way that pleases God (the holy life) The contaminations could be sourced from thoughts, words(discussions), movies, songs, whatever has access to the ears and eyes(doors) of your heart hence there is need to guard our hearts.
"Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life" (Proverbs 4:23 NLT)

How to guard your heart:-
◾The Word- Weigh all things with the Word of God, if it is against the Word no matter how good it is, war against it. If it is not in sync with your identity in Christ, rebuke and reject it. Your mind will inform you against any negative thing if you have fed it with the Word of God and the Holy Spirit will cause you to be pricked through your mind. Read and Study until your heart masters the Word and allows nothing outside the Word.

◾Prayers- War against negative things with prayers. If you are battling with negative thoughts may be due to a movie or sight you saw, as you pray and speak Scriptures, your heart will reject those thoughts.

◾Meditation- Meditation on the Word of God is the key that helps to keep your heart in check. It's a good heart therapy, It keeps our hearts in good condition void of evil and full of life (the Word is life)

◾Understanding one's consecration is one of the ways we guard our hearts since our consecration consists of instructions (DOs and DONTs)
"Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: Keep her; for she is thy life" (Proverbs 4:13 KJV)
In consecration, we become aware of the things that can defile us 👉Joseph knew it was sin and he fled from it. 🔸Samuel recognised it and he stayed far away, these instructions exposes us to know what we should let in and what we should let go.

◾The Holy Spirit - Give permission to the Holy Spirit to be in charge of your heart by yielding to Him. Let Him decide what you watch, hear, see or know. Spend time in fellowship with the Spirit (ROM 8:13-14) and consistently sow to the Spirit.

Beloved, It is important to note that the Holy Spirit can only help you if you have the Word in you and also set Him as permanent WATCH over your soul, His weapons of watching is the Word of God, meditation and so on but you have a part to play by submitting to the leadings of the Holy Spirit. Even as an adult, watch the kind of things that serve as pollution around you. To some people, it is MOVIES and they have children who watch the so called movies with them, this contaminates both their hearts and that of the children from a young age.
Hence, this is an outcry to parents, siblings, teachers, please watch the movies the children are exposed to, even books/novels, friends, games, music, environment. It is no more news that the devil is using different things to put our lives in jeopardy through what we let into our minds. Your heart has a door, shut it against every nonsense and feed it with the Truth only. The devil only supplies lies, don't give in to his jagons.
👉GUARD YOUR HEART!

God bless you.
