LIVING A PURPOSEFUL LIFE (6)
We bless the Name of the Lord for the great grace to learn His Word. It is very important for us to understand that the journey of purpose can only be fulfilled when we yield to the leadership of the Spirit of God. The role of the Holy Spirit in purpose cannot be overemphasized, He is the Leader who shows us the path to fulfill purpose and guides us so we do not fall away. He knows the path to purpose more than anyone else, whether He leads through the valley of the shadow of death or the wilderness, He knows that the outcome will be purposeful.
Throughout the Scriptures, it has never been found that the Spirit of God led anyone amiss. He is the surest guide any man can have. Jesus speaking about Him, said:
"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you." — John 14:26 NKJV
The Holy Spirit is a Teacher, the One who knows and teaches all things. He has the ability to guide men accurately. If we allow the Holy Spirit to take the Lead, we can be assured that we will not miss it in purpose.
Jesus also calls the Holy Spirit, the 'Helper'. There is a reason He is called the 'Helper'. Only Him has the ability to help us live the purposeful life through His guidance. Purpose is not as difficult as many people think it is. Purpose is a beautiful journey. Truly, it comes with different phases but with the help of the Holy Spirit, it is not beyond what we can go through and become refined. In order for Gideon to fulfil purpose, he also needed to experience the help of the Holy Spirit.
"But the Spirit of the Lord came upon Gideon; then he blew the trumpet, and the Abiezrites gathered behind him." — Judges 6:34 NKJV
A man that will fulfil purpose must come into the reality of the ministry of the Holy Spirit, otherwise this man will be trapped in the system of trial and error. One beautiful thing about the Lord is that He will not call man to fulfil a specific purpose and then leave him helpless. For every call to purpose, there is a divine provision. This provision is first found in the ministry of the Holy Spirit, as He opens our eyes to see the possiblities within the journey of purpose that God has called us into. Finding purpose without the Holy Spirit is like going on a journey to a specific destination with a car that has no fuel. It will be impossible to arrive at that divine destination.
Purpose is a spiritual journey and only the Spirit of God can help us walk through it graciously. A man who refuses to embrace the minsitry of the Holy Spirit will end up circling in one spot and with no fulfilment whatsoever.
"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God." — Romans 8:14 NKJV
Remember to submit to leadership of the Spirit of God.
Remain submissive.
