• 505th Anniversary of the First Holy Mass in the Philippines.
• Tuesday of the Holy Week

March 31, 2026 is a deeply meaningful day of faith for Filipinos—it unites the solemn reflection of Holy Tuesday within Holy Week and the joyful remembrance of the 505th Anniversary of the First Holy Mass in the Philippines.

On this very day, we not only journey with Christ as He draws closer to His Passion, but we also look back to a historic moment on Limasawa Island in 1521, when the first Eucharistic celebration was offered in our land by Pedro de Valderrama during the expedition of Ferdinand Magellan.

The coincidence of these two occasions invites a deeper reflection. Holy Tuesday calls us to examine our faith—our sincerity, our fidelity, and our response to Christ’s teachings—while the anniversary reminds us of the roots of that very faith in our nation. It is as if history and liturgy meet: the faith first planted in the Philippines now continues to be lived out in the present, especially in this sacred week.

This day challenges us not just to remember, but to respond. The same Eucharist celebrated in Limasawa 505 years ago is the same Eucharist we receive today—the same Christ, the same sacrifice, the same love. As we commemorate this milestone, may we also renew our commitment to live as true disciples, carrying forward the faith that was once entrusted to us.

Today, we celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, a profound reminder that God’s grace precedes us, forms us, and accompanies us—even in moments beyond our understanding. ✨🕊️

Mary, our Blessed Mother 🌹, was not only chosen by God but lovingly prepared and preserved to offer her fiat, her “yes,” on behalf of us all. Her faithful obedience opened the way to our salvation, and her surrender became a beacon of hope for the entire world. 💫💐

May this feast day inspire us to open our hearts 💗, strengthen our faith ✝️, and courageously offer our own “yes” to God, even when the path before us is not entirely clear. 🙌🏼🕯️
