"In nature, zebras and ostriches have something in common: they are both prey to fast-moving predators.
Zebras have an excellent sense of smell and hearing, but don’t see well.
Ostriches have excellent eyesight, but they don’t hear or smell well.
So, they work together to stay alert.
They are stronger together.
I thought of this as I saw what Moses did for the children of Israel.
And what Aaron did for Moses.
God could have delivered each of them Himself—and yet, He gave them each other.
He does the same for us.
Not always necessarily giving us a strength, but giving us each other for strength.
It’s the same reminder Paul gives by calling us the body of Christ.
The eye has different strengths and weaknesses than the ankle.
The nose has different strengths and weaknesses than the finger.
But each are needed to make the body function.
And we are stronger together.
That’s the beautiful thing about the law of consecration. It means we weren’t made to do it all alone—that we can’t do it all alone.
Even though we give our all, we don’t need to be it all.
We give our time, talents, and strengths, and then have the blessed opportunity to rely on other’s time, talents, and strengths.
It’s a web of people relying on people.
Strengths lifting weakness.
Love binding wounds.
Creating a stronger whole together as we unite in Jesus Christ.
That’s what Aaron was to Moses.
And Aaron was to Moses.
What Moses was to the children of Israel.
And what the children of Israel were for Moses.
What you are to me,
And I am to you.
Doing the work of God takes giving help and receiving help.
Being lifted and lifting.
We are stronger together."
