"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." (Proverbs 3:5–6)

In waiting for promised blessings to come, it can be difficult to put our trust in the Lord. It is easy to get discouraged and feel like no one listening to our prayers. But if we put our trust in Him and metaphorically grasp His hand, we will be guided to greater happiness.

John ran quickly, but then waited outside the tomb before going in and believing.
Peter was slower to the tomb, but ran straight in when he got there.
Mary saw Christ and believed, but couldn’t touch Him.
Thomas did not immediately see Christ and initially doubted, but then touched the Savior and believed.

Four different stories.
Four intentionally descriptive and very unique ways that disciples approached and experienced the risen Savior.
But each of them resulted in powerful relationships.

Perhaps this is to reassure us that there is room for how we approach Him, too.

No matter our path, our differences, our timing—He is there. Ready.

Que le Seigneur regarde nos souffrances

"In nature, zebras and ostriches have something in common: they are both prey to fast-moving predators.

Zebras have an excellent sense of smell and hearing, but don’t see well.
Ostriches have excellent eyesight, but they don’t hear or smell well.

So, they work together to stay alert.
They are stronger together.

I thought of this as I saw what Moses did for the children of Israel.
And what Aaron did for Moses.

God could have delivered each of them Himself—and yet, He gave them each other.

He does the same for us.

Not always necessarily giving us a strength, but giving us each other for strength.

It’s the same reminder Paul gives by calling us the body of Christ.
The eye has different strengths and weaknesses than the ankle.
The nose has different strengths and weaknesses than the finger.
But each are needed to make the body function.
And we are stronger together.

That’s the beautiful thing about the law of consecration. It means we weren’t made to do it all alone—that we can’t do it all alone.

Even though we give our all, we don’t need to be it all.

We give our time, talents, and strengths, and then have the blessed opportunity to rely on other’s time, talents, and strengths.

It’s a web of people relying on people.
Strengths lifting weakness.
Love binding wounds.
Creating a stronger whole together as we unite in Jesus Christ.

That’s what Aaron was to Moses.
And Aaron was to Moses.
What Moses was to the children of Israel.
And what the children of Israel were for Moses.
What you are to me,
And I am to you.

Doing the work of God takes giving help and receiving help.
Being lifted and lifting.
We are stronger together."
