30 new CBCA pastors ordained in Goma
This Sunday, July 21st, 2024, the Baptist community in the central of Africa (CBCA) experienced an important moment with the ordination of it's 30 new pastors.
This ceremony, which took place in the Virunga parish, Ecclesiastical District of Goma, was a true testimony to the power of faith and the strength of the CBCA Christian community.
Candidates from different CBCA positions, such as Kalungu (4), Bukavu (2), Goma (9), Uvira (5), Buturande (5), Muku (1), Kampala (1) maniema (1) and Kinshasa (1), our one and only Rev Dan Tshibangu Manyiku, were called to serve God and his people. The atmosphere was palpable from the morning, with a huge crowd gathered in the parish grounds.
The ceremony began at 10 a.m. with a Bible reading and prayer, followed by a hymn “Tuma Nuru” led by Rev. David Ithero.
The highlights were the sanctification, led by Rev. Pastor Bertin Mutarushwa, and praise, during which the choirs of the parishes of Goma expressed their joy and support for the new pastors.
The arrival of the candidates, dressed in black jackets symbolizing the death of Jesus and accompanied by their wives in loincloths, was a poignant moment.
The preaching time was marked by the inspiring words of the President and Legal Representative of the CBCA, Rev. Dr. Prof Jonathan Kivatsi, who was inspired by the biblical passages of 1Samuel 3:1-10, John 10:7-11 and 1Corinthians 3:11-19. He focused his message on the theme “Kuzingatiya uduma takatifu (Wanting a holy ministry)” emphasizing the responsibility of pastors and the importance of humility and service.
The ordination itself was a solemn moment. The candidates made their declaration of faith before the community, promising to serve God and the people of the CBCA with dedication.
This ordination was marked by songs and prayers, as well as the presentation of the Bible, a symbol of the pastors' commitment to the word of God.
The ceremony ended with a moment of sharing and joy, with songs, applause and photos shooting. The wives of the new pastors also received prayers to accompany them in their mission.
The ordination of these 30 new pastors is a significant event for the CBCA. It is a sign of the growth and vitality of the Baptist community in central Africa. May God bless them in their ministry and help them lead their people toward the light of the Gospel.
