Back in January we posted a video promoting Megan Chute & Cole d’Entremont’s summer mission trip to the Dominican Republic. Here’s what they had to say about their trip:
Megan: “I had the pleasure of going to the Dominican Republic this past July. It was my first mission trip, and it was such an amazing experience. We helped with children's VBS (Vacation Bible School), attended the community's summer camp, and worked with a nearby farm the church owns. We were able to help with all of these things, and doing so felt so rewarding to be a part of their lives for part of the summer. The main thing that I took away from this trip was the hospitality, it was unlike anything I'd ever known. We were welcomed into the communities we visited and learned so much from the locals. I am trying to bring the big and small learning experiences into my personal and church life here in Canada. My experience would not have been the same without the amazing team I went with, CBM, Ibaredo (National organization of Baptist churches in the Dominican Republic), and Jubaredo (The youth and young adults ministries within Ibaredo). With such a personal, spiritual, and successful mission trip, I don’t want my global learning from different cultures and communities to end with this trip, and I cannot wait for my next one.”
Cole: “My mission trip to the Dominican Republic was an incredible experience where we spent time serving at a Vacation Bible School, a summer camp, and a farm focused on re-diversifying the soil. One of the biggest highlights for me was the connections I made with the young adults and the children. The trip was an amazing reminder that God is worldwide and is working in people’s lives everywhere. It was also cool to see how people from across the world serve him and that we got to be apart of it.”
Thank you to everyone who supported Megan and Cole on this trip!
