A New location for the meal provision Ministry of Sarnia Blesdings! Thank-you Wellings of Corunna for this partnership.
On this fine chilly December morning I find myself with a spare 10 minutes away from the kitchen so a great time to update our wonderful followers & supporters on our current situation.
As you may know, the restaurant we were leasing on Plank road is scheduled for demolition and we have vacated that space. We would like to thank Jim & Pattie Jo Pumple for leasing it to us a a reduced rate these past 3 years so we could carry on with our Senior Meal Ministry feeding some very fragile members of our community throughout Lambton County . This move came unexpected and at a time where we are at our most busiest with Christmas catering so its quite a challenge for our volunteer team but were are forging ahead with vigor !
We made the decision to keep our senior meals flowing uninterrupted throughout our move as most of our clients have no other means of feeding themselves setup which created a tremendous amount of work for our already taxed volunteers but as we read in Philippians 4:13 " I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" We feel " Blessed to Serve" and up to any challenges that come our way !
Upon hearing of our building's upcoming demise , we began a frantic search for a new home for Sarnia Blessings. We had a wonderful team of people and friends praying , looking, visiting and reporting back to us. Although many places may have worked we decided on ( insert drum roll here )
WELLINGS OF CORUNNA
This is a beautiful residential facility catering to the 55+ market . We are so very happy to be partnering with Wellings of Curunna and the manager, Billy has been so very accommodating and welcoming to Sarnia Blessings and we look forward to our future here. We have already started making, packaging and delivering from here for the past two weeks and we are learning as we go . Check them out online here https://www.wellingsofcorunna.com/
Regarding catering, we are honoring our booked catering functions and thanks for being patient in your contact with us as our new office setup is a challenge as well. A wonderful volunteer, Marjorie, has stepped up her game and doing so well helping us get ( and stay ) organized. I think she has the most challenging task on the planet, organizing me ! Good luck !
Regarding those asking if we will still be offering lunch/ meals to the public as our Friday Hot Lunch To Go was so very popular with many friends , the answer is YES ! ( but please wait )
Early in the new year we will be open to the public for dining in or to go meals. It will be a gradual transition to this so bear with us . We plan on Lunches, Dinners, Weekend Brunches and various other special events. If you haven't already, Please " follow us on Facebook so you know what we are up to .
Please continue to support us in this as we still are not formally or govt funded and rely solely on donations and food sales to fund our charitable initiatives within our community. Still the best way to reach us is through email ( [email protected] )
You can always send us an e transfer donation directly to our email address [email protected]
We are so very grateful for this God given opportunity and will do our very best to continue to serve humbly .
"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me. Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." Matthew 25:35-40
We are still very much in need of more volunteers so if you can spare a few hours a week, please email us to see where we can best fit you in. We need help with dish washing, general cleaning, food prep, cooking, fundraising events ect. Something for everyone!
Have a wonderful weekend and God Bless each and everyone !
