Our Fall meeting was held on October 20 2025 at Woods Harbour Wesleyan Church . As always these meetings are open for all interested persons to attend.
As you will notice if you have visited the cemetery within the past year, we have had extensive work done with the old fence being discarded , large boulders put in place as well as having a backhoe come in to address the back area of the eastern new part by removing trees and flattening land which has enabled us to acquire more room for smaller cremation lots.
Unfortunately as with any work and maintenance done, it has come at a cost. After paying for the extensive work we find ourselves depleted in available funds. The seasonal work paid for each year is strickly for the mowing,..... all other work that you see done has been carried out by a very small number of people in our area who care deeply about the maintenance and upkeep of our cemetery and their loved ones lots, by donating their time and energy in to cutting perimeter bushes and trees that are always "taking over". We so appreciate that gesture immensely.
The people that take the time out of their busy schedules and lives to come up and care for their loved ones lots do not go un-noticed!
There is always a load of loom up at the cemetery that is available to lot owners who feel their lots made need work.
Other than the mowing that is done, If you have a concern about extra maintenance you feel needs to be addressed on your lot , we have been contacted in the past and we will always try to make every effort to help out in that regard when extra time allows.
Our monetary concerns at the moment are very low to the point it may not allow for monthly mowing to continue once season 2026 starts . We are so thankful for all that pay their lot dues diligently each year. A reminder that the 30.00 lot dues are to be in by the month of June. Keep up the great work as those funds help us to continue on with the upkeep of mowing etc. We are currently thinking of ways to fundraise so if you have an item that you would like to donate to auction off ,we are open to that as well!
As always monetary donations go a long ways in helping financially to achieve our maintenance goals. Donations to the cemetery are an investment that reaches and impacts each and every lot at Mount Pleasant. If you would thoughtfully consider a donation to this worthwhile cause, please do not hesitate to contact our treasurer Joyce Cameron or our secretary Karla Atwood.
We will have a Spring clean up time of which any glass or broken pottery will be placed in the bins as it is dangerous to the maintenance workers. We WILL NOT be removing any saddle items from lots. That will, from now on be of the discretion of the lot owner as to when to discard of old saddles or outdated seasonal decorations.
Your continued dedication and support of our cemetery reaches far and impacts many on a deeply positive and personal level. This is an opportunity to provide continued quality maintenance to Mount Pleasant Cemetery. We look forward to working side by side with you in 2026 Season
