Reminder that the Annual General meeting for the Greenfield Memorial Cemetery is tomorrow evening (Wed, June 10th) at 7:00 p.m. It is being held at the Gaspereau Community Center which is a change from the last several years when it was held at Gaspereau Elementary. If you have a loved one in the cemetery, a burial lot or would just like some general information, please come out to the meeting. Please feel free to share!

Just a note to share. The cemetery committee arranges for regular maintenance of the grounds, but we do not clean the headstones. If you would like to provide some headstone TLC, here are some tips:

To safely clean a headstone, thoroughly soak the stone with water, spray on a non-abrasive cleaner, and gently scrub with a soft-bristled brush in circular motions. Rinse repeatedly with clean water. Never use bleach, pressure washers, or wire brushes, as they permanently damage the stone.

Update on Sept 21st. After discussions with committee members we have CHANGED THE DATE to October 25th @ 10AM with a rain date of November 1st. The leaves will be down by then & we hope to see you then.

With heavy hearts, we mourn the profound loss of our dedicated Committee President — a lifelong pillar of the Greenfield Memorial Cemetery and our greater community.

A devoted husband, father, friend, and steadfast guiding light, his unwavering commitment, boundless energy, and deep love for this community touched countless lives. His absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit will forever echo through the grounds he so passionately served.

Welcome to our new page. The committee is in the early stages of building a community based page where friends & families can keep abreast of the goings-on at the cemetery. Share some family photos & stories. And maybe consider helping out on future posted clean-up days. We have many older graves and their families may no longer be in the area & this may offer an opportunity to connect with their family history.

🕊️ Greenfield Memorial Cemetery – Visitor Guidelines 🕊️
We welcome all visitors to Greenfield Memorial Cemetery and thank you for helping us keep it a peaceful, well-tended space for remembrance and reflection. To ensure the grounds remain respectful and beautiful for everyone, we kindly ask that the following guidelines be observed:
🌿 Please do not plant shrubs or permanent greenery on burial plots.
🌳 Existing plants or trees should be well maintained and not interfere with adjacent plots.
💐 Weathered or faded floral arrangements may be removed as part of regular groundskeeping.
🔆 Solar lights or keepsakes must not obstruct mowing or trimming, but may be included in saddle-style flower arrangements.
🏷️ Please attach weatherproof name tags to any decorations.
🧼 Families are responsible for maintaining their loved one’s headstones.
👣 Mother’s Day and Father’s Day are especially active times — your help in keeping the cemetery tidy is greatly appreciated.
Our committee and project day volunteers work together to ensure the cemetery remains a place of care and dignity.
