A Tea Party!!

Dust off your favourite fascinator. Dig out the long gloves. We're having a tea party!

On Sunday May 7th we invite you to come out to Bethel for a spot of tea. New Life Ministries in Stonewall will be holding a come and go, fundraising tea at Bethel from 1:30 - 4:30.

Admission is free but donations are welcome. There will be silent auction prizes you can purchase tickets for and all proceeds will go to help the Bethel Rays of Hope Orphanage in Kisumu, Kenya, which was started by our very own beloved Sieg & Ursula Grafe.

PIONEER CAMP WORK WEEKEND
On May 19-22 Manitoba Pioneer Camp will be holding a work weekend. Similar to the weekend that many of our men participated in last year but larger in scope. The cost is $75 per person or $125 per family (a great rate!!). You will be fed and spiritually nurtured and then you will get to clean up around the camp. See the bulletin board for more info.

Remember that this Sunday is potluck and we have a special guest speaker who will be fellowshipping with us while we eat. Calvin Smith from Creation Ministries International will be here this Sunday to speak on creation so we encourage you to come out and listen to a great message and then enjoy a delicious lunch afterward. Well I cannot believe it is the end of February already but it appears it's time to announce that the month of March has been designated Missions Month at Bethel. Each Sunday in March will feature a guest speaker from the missions field. Here is a summary of who will be speaking:

March 12 - Laura Lawrence - Child Evangelism Fellowship

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved brother in the Lord John Taylor this past Wednesday, surrounded by his family. There will be a viewing Monday evening October 17th at Chapel Lawn and then a service at 11:00 at Bethel on Tuesday. Internment and refreshments will follow at Chapel Lawn.

SAVE THE DATE: We will be having our annual Filipino fundraiser on Saturday October 22nd. Doors will open at 5:30 and a yummy Filipino supper will be served at 6:00. Have you ever looked at a Christian friend and wondered what made them so...different? Have you wondered exactly what is involved in being a Christian? Do you have any idea what goes on behind the doors of that church down the street?

There is no mystery involved in serving the Lord. It's not a secret what sets the Christian population apart from other people. We love and serve a wonderful God who died so we could live eternally. That's all. And that can be for you too.

We would love to invite you to participate in an 8 week study about the basics of being a Christian. We won't put you on the spot. We won't ask you to sing or to pray. We will serve you coffee and some desserts and share with you the basics of our faith because we want you to have what we have - the joy of the Lord who gives us eternal life.

We invite you to come join us at Bethel Baptist on Sunday evenings from 6 - 8 p.m. in October and November. The exact start date is yet to be settled on so keep watching but we will not meet on Thanksgiving Sunday.

What's Going on Sunday Mornings:
We hope you all had a nice summer and we welcome you back to the fall service times. The church will be open at 10:00 if you would like to come and pray. Coffee will be available at 10:30 and the regular worship service will begin at 11:00, with Junior Church during the service as usual. Looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday. There will be no Sunday School.
