This weekend, Regional Council is meeting in Selkirk so there will not be a live service at McClure. As an alternative, we will livestream the service from the Regional Council "Celebration of Ministries" service from Selkirk United Church in the MPR. Note the start time of 10:30 am.

This Sunday we celebrate Trinity Sunday. Trinity Sunday honours the foundational doctrine of the Holy Trinity: that God exists as three distinct but co-equal "persons"—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—united in one essence. (Source: Wikipedia)

Join us this Sunday for our Pentecost Sunday service. Plan to stay for a potluck lunch after the service.

Pentecost is celebrated on a Sunday 50 days after Easter (counting Easter Sunday), or seven weeks (seven times seven) not counting Easter Sunday. Pentecost comes from the Greek word pentēkostē meaning “50th” (day). Pentecost is a reference to the Jewish festival Shavuot or the Festival of Weeks, which is held on the 50th day after the second day of Passover. This festival celebrates the giving of the Torah to the Israelites at Mount Sinai. In Acts 2, it is said that the disciples had gathered on the day of Pentecost, or the day of the festival of Shavuot. That’s when the wind and fire and Spirit came! (Source: gatheringworship.ca)

A big Thank You! to Rev. Karen Toole for leading us in worship last Sunday. We look forward to having you back at the McClure pulpit in a couple of weeks.

We welcome back Heather to lead us in worship this Sunday for the 4th Sunday of Easter. Plan to stay for a potluck lunch after the service as we celebrate March & April birthdays.

A reminder to bring your questions for Heather on Sunday (even better if you can submit them in advance). Heather will be answering questions on a wide range of issues concerning faith, the Bible, Jesus, prayer, theology or God images: (e.g. is God out there or in here? What good is prayer? Do you have to believe in God to be a Chrisitan? What if we're wrong? How do I know it's "God telling me" something and not my own ego or desires? Was crucifixion necessary? If I can pray anywhere is church important? Etc, etc.) Questions we don't get to this week we will answer in future weeks.

Parking is available on Sundays in the CNIB lot. Please park in stalls labelled either as "CNIB visitor" or "No Parking 24 hours Monday to Saturday".
