Hello Folks,
I'm posting on this Saturday to let you know what will be happening tomorrow (Sunday, June7) at TMUC.
First, there will not be a morning worship service at the church. Instead, we will be holding a vespers-like service on Sunday evening, beginning at 7:00 p.m. This service will be focused on acknowledging, honouring and celebrating PRIDE by exploring the themes of diversity, equity, inclusion and justice. We'll use scripture and stories and music and prayers and rituals to open our hearts and minds to these themes. Tomorrow evening's service is open to everyone. All are welcome.
As for tomorrow morning (Sunday, June 7), we have two suggestions that you might be interested in considering. The first of these is to join us at the Winnipeg Pride Parade. There will be a group of us from Transcona Memorial who will be walking with other United Church folk in tomorrow's parade. We'll be meeting at the Legislature for the rally (10:00 a.m.), and then walking in the parade.
Related, the Winnipeg Pride Parade will be live streamed on CTV Winnipeg's website (www.ctvnews.ca/winnipeg).
For those who are looking for another option, the ecumenical worship service for the Transcona Hi Neighbour Festival will take place at the Archambault Pavilion on Regent Avenue, beginning at 10:00 a.m. All are welcome to join in this service.
So, we really hope that you might be able to fit one or more of these options into your Sunday. It would be wonderful to share the time and space and energy of worship and the Pride parade with you!
If you have any questions you can leave a comment here or email me ([email protected]).
Have a great weekend! Happy Pride!
Blessings,
Rob.
PS. Remember, we're at 209 Yale Avenue West. And please don't forget that Yale Avenue West is closed and parking for the church will be on adjacent side streets.
