Hello Folks,

I'm posting on this Saturday afternoon to extend an invitation to you, to join us at Transcona Memorial United Church tomorrow (Sunday, September 6) for worship. Yes! You're invited! We would love to share the time and space and energy of worship with you, tomorrow at TMUC.

Worship begins at 10:00 a.m. and the doors will be open by 9:00 a.m. Please know that the reconstruction of Yale Avenue is complete, and that you can now park there. Primary access to the church is now through the glass doors (CE entrance) or the sanctuary doors (with the fish-shaped windows).

As well, we provide a live stream of the service on the TMUC page on Facebook. The live stream begins just before 10:00 a.m.

Tomorrow's service will look back at our Summertime Storybook Series, and look ahead to the potential and unknown of the future. We'll be using a passage of Paul's letter to the church in Rome as a jumping-off place (Rom. 13:8-14). General themes will be about story and legacy.

We really hope that you might make room in your Sunday schedule to worship with us at Transcona Memorial. All are welcome! Anyone! Anytime!

Hello Folks!

We are excited to announce our line up for our Orange Shirt Festival on Wednesday, September 16.

We are excited that these talented and creative folk will be participating in our Orange Shirt Festival!

Performers: ORVIS, Ivy Venin, NAGI, Fleury-Green Family Dancers, Darryl Buck, riel, Eric Lavoie, Ivan Flett Memorial Dancers, Norway Rabliauskas and Graffiti Parks.

Artists/Crafters: Kim Hare, Cree Indigenuity Art & Design (Heather Endall), Michelle McDonald, Two-Spirit Mikinaak Creations and INAC.

Food Vendors: The Indigenous Kitchen, Shelly's Indigenous Bistro, Kitchen Manito-Waya and Indigenous Curbside Tasty Cravings.

We'd love for you to join us for our Orange Shirt Festival on Wednesday, September 16 at Transcona Memorial United Church.

Hello Folks,

I'm posting today, to share one of the background stories of our Orange Shirt Festival (Wednesday, September 16).

The art for our poster was created by Winnipeg-based artist and author, Jodine Droux. We are grateful for Jodine's generosity and creativity.

Of this particular design, Jodine says, "The drums sit at the heart of this piece - living beings whose circles echo creation and the cycles of healing and remembrance. One drum honours the children whose stories were taken; the other gathers community in unity and resilience. Surrounded by floral motifs, they stand as guardians of memory, their steady heartbeat uplifting Every Child Matters and calling us to remember, protect, and honour the stories that guide us forward."

We are grateful and humbled to receive this story.

The Orange Shirt Festival at Transcona Memorial United Church will be Wednesday, September 16. Food vendors and artist/craft vendors @ 4:00 p.m. Concert doors @ 6:00 p.m. Concert @ 7:00 p.m.

Concert line-up will be announced Friday, September 4.

Tickets: $25.00 sanctuary seating; $20.00 lower hall/live stream seating.

I'm posting on this wonderful August Friday afternoon to invite you to worship with us at Transcona Memorial United Church on Sunday, August 30, as we conclude our "Summertime Storybook Series." This is the final Sunday of the series where we have been engaged by gifted storytellers (and amazing illustrators). The stories of this series invite us to explore themes of living in our world as faithful people. So, please, bring your curiosity! Bring your wonder! Come, open your heart and mind to the joy and wisdom of simple, yet profound and hope-filled stories!

This week's story will be "I Am One" by Susan Verde.

You can find us at 209 Yale Avenue West in Winnipeg. And GOOD NEWS! The reconstruction of Yale Avenue is complete! So you can drive and park there now. We also have a brand new cut-out that allows for dropping off close to the front doors. Yea!

Worship at TMUC begins at 10:00 a.m. The doors will be open by 9:00 a.m. Additionally, we provide a live stream of the service on the TMUC page on Facebook, and this begins shortly before 10 o'clock.

Also know that we will be celebrating the Sacrament of Communion during this service. At Transcona Memorial, all are welcome and included in Communion. Anyone. Anytime.

Hello Folks,

We are posting to let you know of this event that is coming up at Transcona Memorial United Church on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

Primarily, our Orange Shirt Festival is intended to raise awareness of and funds for the Orange Shirt Society (www.orangeshirtday.org). Additionally, our Orange Shirt Festival supports Indigenous performers, artists, and chefs in their vocations and crafts by connecting them with returning and new audiences and clients.

At TMUC we are committed to acts of reconciliation that provide opportunities to grow in understanding and to foster authentic and sustainable cultural change. This festival, which features Indigenous performers, Indigenous artists and crafters, and Indigenous chefs and cooks, provides one expression of this commitment.

TMUC's Orange Shirt Festival is a ticketed event. Tickets can be purchased by contacting the church office (204-222-1331 or [email protected]). Tickets are $25.00 for live concert seating or $20.00 for streamed concert seating. Both tickets provide access to the Indigenous market.

Transcona Memorial is located at 209 Yale Avenue West in Winnipeg.

I'm posting on this Friday that feels like summer is bound and determined to hang on for a while longer, to invite you to worship with us at Transcona Memorial United Church this coming Sunday, August 23, as we continue our "Summertime Storybook Series." This is the fourth of five Sundays in this series where we are being engaged by gifted storytellers (and amazing illustrators). The stories of this series invite us to explore themes of living in our world as faithful people. So, please, bring your curiosity! Bring your wonder! Come, open your heart and mind to the joy and wisdom of simple, yet profound and hope-filled stories!

This week's story will be "The Big Orange Splot" by Daniel Manus Pinkwater.

You can find us at 209 Yale Avenue West in Winnipeg. Please know that, while the re-construction of this portion of Yale Ave West is getting close to finished, it is not, yet. This means that parking is limited and you should plan to park on adjacent neighbourhood streets. As well, access to the building will be the most convenient through the door at the top of the ramp on the north side of the building/sanctuary.

Worship at TMUC begins at 10:00 a.m. The doors will be open by 9:00 a.m. Additionally, we provide a live stream of the service on the TMUC page on Facebook, and this begins just before 10 o'clock.
